E. W. Scripps Programming Agreement Expired

E. W. Scripps cable network programming is currently unavailable as our agreement with E. W. Scripps has expired.

Please know we pay programmers to bring you the entertainment you love, and a number of reasonable offers have been made and they haven’t been accepted. Comcast is working toward bringing back this programming, but only with fair pricing, terms, and conditions for customers. I know unexpected changes to your TV lineup can be frustrating, and I apologize for any inconvenience.

I get that Xfinity doesn't want to pay whatever increased rates Scripps is demanding for access to its channels. But what I don't understand is why I can't stream NBC programming on Peacock. Programs just display a "blackout dispute" error screen. Aren't NBC and Xfinity owned by the same parent company? Why is the owner of a local broadcaster allowed to block your customers from accessing content that you own through your internet streaming service?

This is rediculous. Three weeks and no local ABC station. No refund. Both companies blaming each other. Corporate greed is destroying everything in our everyday life.

Our local Fox 13 has been off Xfinity for too long now. It’s the channel I watch the most. I have cable so I don’t have to bother with an antenna or 20 different ways of getting the channels I want. I hav cable so I can record. This is ridiculous and frustrating.

Hello @user_glu1du

On March 31, 2026, at 5:59 p.m. Eastern Time (ET), Comcast’s agreement with E. W. Scripps to carry its programming expired. As a result, E. W. Scripps’s programming can no longer be carried by Xfinity or Comcast Business, including any related programming on Xfinity Stream and On Demand.

Comcast pays programmers to bring customers the entertainment, information, and sports they want. Comcast works to negotiate fair terms in order to ensure the greatest value for customers, given all the ways content can be accessed today. A number of reasonable offers have been made that E. W. Scripps hasn’t accepted. Comcast continues to work towards making this programming available again with fair pricing and terms for our customers.

Fox 13 news covers the news and what is going on in the salt valley better than any of the other channels.  The loss of this daily report is a huge impact. We no longer have any idea what is going on around the valley.  The weather and traffic reports are now lacking. I hope you figure out the mistake you have made soon.

I seriously can’t believe that they’ve Made their customers go this long without discounting our cable bills or giving us our channels back or giving us additional channels because they’re the ones that are causing an issue with the other company. [Edited: "Language"]. We pay a lot of money for cable and can’t even get our local channels and I’m like you and I don’t have a different way of watching local channels plus I like to watch it on demand I have the shows recorded and it’s not even just this station that’s an issue they either fix The issue with that company or start giving us a huge discount and or additional channel that we don’t normally have because this is not right and they need to make it right with their customers!!

Agree 100%! So where is our Comcast discount now that we have lost an important part of programming? For me probably my most important channel.

Not happy. 75% of my recorded programs stopped in the middle of a show & displayed message about Fox.  Fox is a main station I watch, and from the comments I see I’m not the only one. If I have to pay for streaming to get the programs I want there is no reason to pay for cable. GET FOX BACK

This is ridiculous it’s been over a month of no ABC channel access. I’m now looking into replacing Comcast unless all parties involved can resolve this issue soon!
