E. W. Scripps Programming Agreement Expired

E. W. Scripps cable network programming is currently unavailable as our agreement with E. W. Scripps has expired.

Please know we pay programmers to bring you the entertainment you love, and a number of reasonable offers have been made and they haven’t been accepted. Comcast is working toward bringing back this programming, but only with fair pricing, terms, and conditions for customers. I know unexpected changes to your TV lineup can be frustrating, and I apologize for any inconvenience.

I’m being as patient as I can. I’m missing ABC and other channels associated with it.  I’m shocked at Xfinity for taking so long to resolve this issue.  Do something please

It has been nearly a month, beginning March 31st, since subscribers nationwide have lost numerous TV stations that we have paid for/are still paying to receive.  Depending on one's market, affected stations include one or more of the major networks (ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX) plus any one or more of a number of specialty stations (GRIT, Court TV, Laff TV, Bounce TV, ION+, ION Mystery).

And while some of these stations are available by using an over the air antenna, streaming apps, or through the station's website, that doesn't help those of us who routinely DVR our programs to watch at a more convenient time and/or to skip commercials.

It's beyond time that Xfinity resolves this issue and gives us the full range of TV stations we are, and have been, paying for!

Comcast owes us more of an answer and definitely a refund.  The regional charge use to show on my bill as a line item but now does not.  It was $30 or more as best I can recall.  Comcast owes us a clear update and that refund.  For many of us who watch only a small number of channels, but pay for 100 or more, it is very frustrating.  Feeling like the little guy (me) is being ripped off!!!

I just received an email stating that xfinity is extending my free Peacock premium for another year. This is not a channel I watch regularly. I would much rather have my local channel ABC back. How can you afford to give a premium channel to customers, but cannot give me a basic channel?

Xfinity and Peacock both belong to the same parent company (Comcast/NBC/Universal). I don't think Xfinity is "paying" anything to offer that benefit.

I would like a realistic date when channel 7 et al is coming back?

It appears the big owners are trying to monopolize the industry. We the people are left out to sea.

We are are tired, very tired of the outrageous cost of cable.

I am expecting a credit.

Tomorrow on May 1 will mark 1-month that Xfinity cancelled WTVF-Channel 5 here in Nashville, TN. I understand this business and negotiating contracts with cable companies, but this is ridiculous. Xfinity can be expensive depending on in what you got in your package. All customers need to be REFUND for 1-both due to us as customers paying our Xfinity bill prior to the channel being cancelled.

If this prolonged, then we as customers need to cancel Xfinity expeditiously .

I totally agree with all the other disgruntled subscribers. If it is not resolved soon I will have to look elsewhere for service. I pay way too much to not be able to access a major network like NBC. I have been a subscriber for MANY years but this is ridiculous. Get with the program and use some of the dollars that we send you every month to settle the contract!! And no apologies or credit given to its subscrtibers?  What kind of business model is that? We should be credited because we can't access networks that we pay for.

This is ridiculous? ABC is one of the 3 major networks. 95% of what I watch is on ABC. I’m losing patience. Will be changing cable companies if it’s not back soon!!!!!!

This is ridiculous that we get no real relief for the loss of ABC.. what will be done for customers?  Why haven't you found an alternative or worked hard to come to a solution to this problem.

Will we get a discount on our bills for this current situation? Frankly not having local ABC in Denver is bit frustrating and I am tired of having to deal with Xfinity customer service to resolve issues. It's a horrible experience and I have to waste a lot of time any time I do have to contact them.

Please bring back Fox.  It's ridiculous that you cannot come up with an agreement.  I pay a huge amount of money to you each month!  I would like a refund of the amount I'm being charged for a station I can't have!

I understand how it works and that you pay for programming but you need to get it resolved, lost revenue from customers who leave because of this matter are also not good for you.  I have been a Comcast customer for probably 30 years and even though I can get the content I want much cheaper, I have chosen to stay for convenience.  You give cheap deals to new customers but do nothing extra for long term customers like me and now  you can't even provide one of the basic stations we tune into every single day.   This is probably going to be the last straw and if I switch to streaming, which will save me a bunch of money, I am never coming back to you.  If not resolved in the next week or two I am done.   Suspect I am not the only one.

I haven’t been a customer quite as long as you, 14 years, but I’m currently starting a free trial of YouTube TV. If the Scripps dispute isn’t resolved this week I believe I’m going to cut the cord. I’m pretty sure many others will or already have.

We’re senior citizens and are getting really squeezed by high costs on EVERYTHING!

Now Xfinity is not even giving us what we’re already overpaying for. 🤬
