E. W. Scripps Programming Agreement Expired

E. W. Scripps cable network programming is currently unavailable as our agreement with E. W. Scripps has expired.

Please know we pay programmers to bring you the entertainment you love, and a number of reasonable offers have been made and they haven’t been accepted. Comcast is working toward bringing back this programming, but only with fair pricing, terms, and conditions for customers. I know unexpected changes to your TV lineup can be frustrating, and I apologize for any inconvenience.

Commenting from Murfreesboro, TN - So fix the problem. Pay them more money and pass the increase along to us, the consumers. Isn’t this what you NORMALLY do? And let me ask this, since you are paying them NOTHING now, why haven’t you lowered my bill (just making additional profit, huh?). Oh yes, in my case I am missing 1/2 of my normal programming because I watch CBS for news and much of their regular programming, so deduct MORE from my bill. Remember, I do have alternatives and I will not worry a bit about dropping ALL of the services I get from Comcast. It’s no problem.

I would appreciate a response.

Xfinity being with EW Scripps in Detroit market. Xfinity had blocked out all ABC and affiliates stations for 4-8 weeks but not discounted or bill. Requesting refund for the time the stations have been blocked, provide the stations going forward or remove a significant portion of our bill

When are we getting a discount for missing 1 of 3 major network local affiliates while continuing to pay $30 a month extra for local broadcast channels.

It is extremely frustrating when we are already paying a lot of money for services and they you all can't come to an agreement then we are expected to pay even more to be able to continue watching.  No wonder everyone is now using other options to watch TV.

[Edited: "Language"]  Why do I keep paying for so much money for many channels that I don't even want, but the ones that I do (local channels by the way), are no longer available?  Really need to re-think this.

I sure hope Comcast is working on getting an agreement with Scripps Broadcasting here in Michigan. The loss of the ABC stations means I have to find other ways to view them. Once I do that, I will learn I don't need to rely on Comcast. Additionally, customers should be seeing a reduction in our monthly rate now that you've eliminated channels that were in our package.

This issue needs to be resolved immediately! We pay enough for cable and this is not acceptable!
