Disney plus Error Code 83
Hello,
I am attempting to access Disney plus. I have not had any problem until 2 days ago.
I am able to login and get to the front page of Disney plus and search and select a video. However, when I select a video and start to play, Disney plus responds with Error Code 83
Disney+ Error Code 83 is a connection or device compatibility issue meaning the app cannot authenticate your device or play protected content (DRM). To fix it, restart your app and device, ensure you are using a supported, updated device, disable any active VPNs, and check your Wi-Fi connection.
I have restarted the TV box and the Internet Gateway and verified the TV box is compatible (XC1v4-A)
I have connected to Disney plus and view a selected video on the computer.
Everything seems to be correct, except the error continues for the past 2 days.
What else can I do?

I have been able to answer my own question. ! :-)
The signal is routed through the XG1-v4 cable box into a Yamaha HTR-4065 AV Receiver. The HTR-4065 had never had the firmware updated. Apparently the HTR-4065 with v1.11 firmware was not compatible with the Disney security protocols. I was able to update the firmware from 1.11 to 1.23.
Success and back to watching.

I am having the same issue but it is currently unresolved. I have a TCL Roku TV and it has been updated regularly to the most recent firmware and it plays Disney+ just fine on the TV side. I have gotten a new Xfinity Gateway box and installed it and it works just fin3 but still will not play Disney+.
Any help or suggestions? Thanks in advance!

I had the exact same problem. Xfinity says they are working on the issue some kind of conflict between the xfinity box and the Disney app. Disney didn't have a solution either. With me I noticed it happened after disney plus did an update. First time after troubleshooting with xfinity with no results I decided to changed the box signed back in everything worked fine. A few days ago same thing. Did some internet searches and this worked for me. It was a pain because I had to resign into everything. Press the xfinity button, select the gear icon, select Privacy, then Locally Stored Data (on my box, may be clear cookies and locally stored data) and then clear it. Recordings are not affected. I did this signed in and it worked. Good luck.
