Discover Plus

Will there be an extra chage on my bill for DiscoverPlus. My current plan gets all the programs mentioned in Discover plus advertising

I understand that Discovery and u (xfinity) could not meet each others demands, I guess u would say. We didn't do it. And u say that the channels r not being taken away, well they kinda r. Whenever Discovery+ actually launches for everyone. Those of us that do not or refuse to pay the $4.99 (and yes I know it is change in a bucket) simply on principle. We would not have access to the Discovery+ which is the Discovery
that we r paying within our package now. So how r we not losing our channels?? I pay alot of money with my triple play package and I should be able to just sit back and enjoy my shows. And before u say it, I know that u say that u have no choice in it. But we rely on u to give us the best service possible. We r not the ones in charge here. Of course we r upset. We r losing our shows to Discovery+
I already pay $300 a month, y would I want to pay more for a program that I am already watching and paying for. I think I pay plenty enough.

Agreed. I pay about $300 a month they take channels away but my bill stays the same. Thinking its time to go a different route for all of my service, cuz I'm tired of constantly having to guestion every little part of my bill. I don't like feeling like I'm being cheated out of my money, and I know I'm not the only one.

I have triple play and pay about $300 a month. Seems like we keep losing channels but yet my bill sure stays the same.

Why is “exclusive original” programming available ONLY on the “Discovery + “ stream service? I pay for Discovery channel. You’re shutting us out and asking us to pay more and get episodes we already have been following for years. You are unfair, Discovery+. Especially during this time when people are watching their income tightly. Shame on you.

You need to direct your comments to Discovery, not Comcast.

Exactly! Just saw on 2 programs I watch that new episodes will appear solely on Discovery  +. So why should I continue to pay for cable? I already had to buy Norton because I don't trust Comcast security. Now their channels won't show new episodes?

It is the programming and contract Xfinity sold people. If Xfinity can no longer fulfil their customer programming and contract, Xfinity owes customers a HUGE refund.

You are aware that Comcast PAYS Discovery Networks for the right to carry their channels. There is typically a multi-year agreement involved. If Discovery Networks reduces the worth of their channels, then it's up to them and Comcast to come to a new agreement to reduce costs. Comcast currently still has to pay Discovery Networks the same amount, no matter how few people watch the channels.

I guess I may have worded that wrong. Not losing the channel we r losing the programming. The shows that I watch religiously like, Ghost Adventures, Ghost Nations, Mountain Monsters, The Dead Files, Street Outlaws, Lone Star Law, My Haunted House, True Terror, Paranormal Declassified, and I could go on. I am able to watch these now within my triple play package now. But whenever Discovery+ takes over i feel like I am back into a corner and have no choice at all but to pay for the Discovery+ and its not right. Who fights us. And I have written to Discovery as u suggested, but I know how it works and I won't hold my breath waiting on a response from them.
