Default channel changing on its own

Every evening we turn on the tv and Merit Tv is on. We've never watched this channel, set our default channel to another channel, but nothing helps. 
has this happened to anyone else?

Hi there, user_9jrblk! Thanks for reaching out about the TV changing to Merit TV each time you turn it back on. You should be seeing the last channel that you watched. We will get to the bottom of this! Sometimes the channel can change if you have DVR recordings set up. Do you use the DVR service and record anything on that channel?

we never watch that channel and never record on that channel.

@user_9jrblk Have you unplugged and restarted your box lately to see if you are able to shake the channel? Also, our Xfinity app has some great troubleshooting options where you can get a signal sent to your specific cable box as well.

We have restarted our cable box many times! We have tried many times to trouble shoot this problem (including sending a new signal) and have chatted multiple times.
