Create TV Being Removed From Lineup
I was watching Create TV and a banner appeared at the bottom of the screen saying it will be removed from the lineup on January 1st. Is this something that was Comcast's decision? If so, I would very much like the network to stay.

I don't want Xfinity to delete Create TV from the Xfinity lineup. Do not delete. I will drop Xfinity.

I’m so very disappointed that the Create channel is being removed, it’s my go to tv! Seriously considering canceling and will source my internet from someone else. Tired of paying more and more and getting less and less!!

Comcast keeps disavowing responsibility for this, but the truth is that if they paid the station proper money then the station(s) obviously could and would continue to carry Create despite any funding cuts. Let's be real. Comcast can afford it and my cable costs four time what it recently did and they're cutting what they PAY.

Having read through Comcast's community forums, I understand that WLVT is no longer able to afford Create TV in its lineup. Most people are either blaming Comcast or suggesting WHYY in Philadelphia re-introduces Create TV to their 2026 lineup. All of us here have relied on Comcast to provide the best content available. I do not know the internal workings of PBS stations with your company, but I suspect Comcast could provide Create TV to its viewing audience in one way or another through any other PBS station that airs it. We expect you to show interest in customers who are focused on the arts, travel, cooking, DIY and culture. There is no substitute for Create TV. With 85% of the US able to access Create TV, there isn't a good reason that it's not available in our viewing area. This is a request for your company to find a way to bring this valuable and unique programming back to Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey.

It doesn’t make sense. Why would they remove a popular channel? Especially one as watched as much as Create! Something is fishy here….

As stated above, this was NOT a Comcast/Xfinity decision. To express your unhappiness to the people who actually caused the problem and could fix it if they were motivated to do so, write or call your US senators and representatives. They are the ones who decided to stop funding PBS, leaving the network and its stations scrambling for ways to stay on the air. Cutting costs by dropping programs is, unfortunately, a part of that effort.

Again if Comcast paid the TV station appropriately for the channel, it would not have had to go off the air. They knew Comcast wants to pay nothing, and so federal funding cuts were the last straw. Pay them to put it back on! We certainly pay YOU for your huge load of worthless channels.

The best solution is Comcast taking this segment of their viewers seriously and doing what they have to do to bring Create TV back to their lineup. None of us care how it gets done. It simply needs to happen. They have the means, the intelligence and influence to get it done at any time. Again, as I said above, 85%+ of the country has access to Create TV through their providers. This is Comcast, not some 2nd rate provider. The amount we pay Comcast is beyond enough to expect and demand, at a minimum, having one specific, popular, family-friendly, educational channel dedicated to arts and culture available to all of us. These community comments deserve a positive response and an outline for the solution to return Create TV in our area.
