court tv

Court TV was previously on channel 1191. There was a message last week onscreen saying 'Effective 6/2/25 WPXD channel 31.2 will switch to ION Plus.'  I cannot find ION Plus and when I go to the ION Plus website it says to access it via xFinity channel 1191.  There is nothing on any of my xfinity bills about a change to the channel lineup. How do I find CTV on xfinity or is it just gone?  I want to record and watch using my smart TV.

I’ve been trying to find court tv as well. I see no one else has commented.

I contacted xfinity directly which as you can imagine was pointless. I tried explaining that on xfinity streaming it still shows Court TV as the channel but is showing some old Ion shows.  I just could not get them to understand.  She kept saying 'I'll refresh your service' so I finally gave up.  I am watching online direct with Court TV and screen recording but am going to downgrade my streaming package since this was literally the only reason I took the upgraded package.

I’ve been fighting with the virtual assistant trying to chat with someone, also pointless! Pulled up court tv online and using that for now, but they need to fix this.

I'm curious what area others are in with this issue. I'm in SE Michigan.

I am also in SE Michigan, and lost Court TV. You can view Court TV on Xfinity if you have a set top box, then access Apps, then Xumo Play, then select CTV. However, since XumoPlay is technically a third party app you cannot record anything from CTV with the DVR.

I contacted Xfinity, and as someone else stated - POINTLESS. Appears the network that was on 1191 (in SE Michigan) that carried CTV switched to ION+ without telling Xfinity. I was watching at 9am when they made the switch.

But so frustrating, it's been known for OVER A WEEK the switch was coming. Why would Xfinity not have another channel ready to go with broadcasting Court TV.

After very careful consideration, I have come to the conclusion Xfinity, their high bills, and TV service IS A COMPLETE JOKE!

I don't have a set top box and you are right, there was a message across the screen periodically for at least a week so I don't believe xfinity didn't know (I believe their customer service has no clue). I foolishly assumed xfinity would still have CTV via the Ion+ network.  Notice how no one from xfinity responds to these posts. There were also supposed to text me after I called them but of course never did.

I submitted a ticket to have the problem resolved.

There is going to be no resolution via a "ticket" with Xfinity. It's not their call or problem. The local channel that carried Court TV decided to drop it in favor of ION. Simple as that. Don't hold your breath for a fix.

Thanks for posting their reply - but again Xfinity is missing the very simplest of things. Yes, Court TV streams (as a whole lot of networks do) - however, when it was being carried on the network on channel 1191, it was a part of Xfinity cable lineup. Just like when a person subscribes to Philo, Fubo, YouTube TV, or even Direct TV - they all carry Court TV as in their lineup, which also means you could record shows or programming on Court TV. Just like when it was part of Xfinity lineup, could record it with Xfinity's DVR service. Now it can't be recorded.

And I don't understand with such an advanced notice, how Xfinity had no clue it seems. They still don't. My guide on TV still shows Court TV for channel 1191.

I just subscribed to YouTube TV, 21 days free then 2 months at $59, then $83 a month. Still $114 cheaper than my Xfinity bill....plus now I get  Court TV and unlimited recording (instead of paying extra for additional DVR space.

Normally, I'd give Xfinity a chance to fix it - but I hardly can get a human on the phone anymore, not even a choice on the phone menu to speak to a live person. Did get one person, all she wanted to do was reset my box. Let's see what happens.

@user_Edgon I’m sorry to hear about your experience and not being able to reach someone over the phone. ION Plus was formerly available over-the-air, but has now expanded primarily to streaming platforms. With the recent change it may take a couple of days before the guides are updated. Your bill also contains important information such as channel changes, and notices from us. Court TV can be accessed through the Court TV app or various streaming services like Tubi, Pluto TV, and Freevee.
