Clarity on Paramount+ with Showtime

I just watched the ad and it says coming in January. It's January, but when I try to watch Paramount+ content...I'm taken to the screen to subscribe to Paramount+. I am a Showtime subscriber. When will I and how do I get to watch Paramount+ content. Please explain.

So on my latest bill, it says my bundled plan includes Paramount+ with Showtime. BUT in the Additional Information, it NOW says (this is new): "TV Update: Effective February 7, 2024, Showtime was renamed Paramount + with SHOWTIME. This service does not include access to the Paramount + app." So that is the new [Edited: Language]. They aren't making the deal with Paramount at this time after all, like they told all of us they would. But they have renamed our product to imply that we are getting Paramount+ in addition to Showtime (I would be happy if we just got the Showtime programming). So basically, we are paying for Showtime and no longer really getting it in full.

This was a big problem, some years ago, with STARZ when we couldn't access the app, so we couldn't get all of the STARZ or Encore programming either. But eventually, they did make a deal. It seems to be worse with Showtime, though, since On Demand doesn't work with my cable boxes any longer, and the TV app On Demand doesn't even have nearly the same programs and movies, and some only work on the app/website (and I don't want to watch on my phone or computer, so that's ridiculous). It's a bad deal for us, but I still like having the Showtime live channels, so I am not sure what I will do quite yet.

This is a major problem. It is “bundled” in my overall service and I could pay the same amount to get the same content but would need a different bundle. It’s awful customer service and clearly Xfinity and paramount can’t come to terms.

My channel called "Paramount+ with SHOWTIME" showed a Joaquin Phoenix movie the other night called Inherent Vice. The movie had already started when I happened upon it and watched the trailer, which piqued my interest. There was no option to "restart" the movie like all my other paid channels. Nor did I see anything showing "other times" this movie will air on "Paramount+ with SHOWTIME". Even though this movie was free for me to watch on "Paramount+ with SHOWTIME" that one night at that one particular time, I can't find any way to watch this movie on demand without having to pay for it. Is there a way for me to watch this. movie at my convenience without being charged for it? Am I missing something?

@user_9dc387 It's part of what we have lost by losing the Showtime TV app. We no longer have access to all of the moves and shows that the Showtime TV app included (and are on the P+ TV app now) because they won't let the Xfinity Steam TV app have them all. Looks like Inherent Vice is in the same situation as Beau is Afraid. You can watch it on your computer through Xfinity Stream, but not on the Xf Stream TV app, which is ridiculous since I watch movies on my largest screen. Don't try recording anything thought the Xf Stream app because the quality is unwatchable If you have the ability to mirror/hook up a computer to your TV, then that may be your best option. We really need to get what we pay for. It's shameful that they can't finish the arrangement they promised, but P+ wants us all to leave Xfininty.

This is all so confusing.  I pay $12 a month for a Paramount+Showtime subscription through Xfinity and separately $5.99 a month for a Paramount+ subscription directly through the Paramount+ website.  I've been paying for Showtime for years, but when I saw that Paramount+ was supposed to be included, it seems I can now cancel one of them, depending on whether I want to keep the Showtime premium channels.  But from what I am reading, it seems like I should cancel the Xfinity version because it doesn't give you access to Paramount+ like it should.

As of 5/28/24... and in my experience with Xfinity Support the last couple days....

Xfinity is not selling/providing full access to Paramount+.  The Showtime On Demand "channel" has only been rebranded to 'Paramount+ with Showtime' so your Xfinity-based subscription to Showtime is intact, but is only the formerly branded Showtime channel content - which incidentally is priced the same as a full membership with Paramount+. (!)

If we want full access to Paramount+ content, and to use the Paramount+ app on any device, we need to cancel with Xfinity and subscribe via Paramount directly.  This is what I'm told after 2 days and four support agents.

@bubbashd FYI, not all of the formerly branded Showtime channel content is available. Some shows that were previously available as Showtime On Demand before the merger now have a fee. So a Showtime that you could previously watch for free, you now have to pay for.

Paramount Plus advises that they are not yet a partner with Xfinity as of July 2024.  So Xfinity is not delivering the product they advertise and bill you for.  Xfinity customer service insists this is a Paramount Plus problem nonetheless.
