Channel filtering options request

I haven't found a way yet short of paging through a thousand channels and tagging favorites. But is there any way of blocking channels in the guide from being listed by type? I would like to be able to page the guide without having to go through page after page of music, sports and foreign languages just to find my wanted channels. At least add a select all button to favorites because there are less channels that I can remove from favorites than there are to add, I'm sure there are others that feel the same about filtering their lineup.
