Channel 899/111 ID Investigation Discovery - WHEN IS IT COMING BACK???
I was told last fall 2019 that VERY SOON the ID channel would be restored to my package, should have been by end of 2019. I've had the top/premium movie/entertainment/sports tier & whole home DVR X1 platform since it came out. I always had ID channel until my last modem upgrade, from the one with like 12 lights skinny tall box to this giant phalic triangle looking tower with 2 lights.. since then ID went away. if i try to tune 111 or 899 on TV it still to this day says "subscription needed, goto xfinity subscriptions for info".. well I have searched the website high and low and find NOTHING about how to restore it. I'd even be willing to pay $5 a month just to access ondemand content from the ID channel, but that doesnt seem to be an option either. yesterday i discovered that I can access a few episodes of my favorite show on ID using streaming on mobile/pc, but it doesnt work on TV at all. all other episodes on mobile/pc say a subscription is needed, click here to subscribe. from mobile, click here goes nowhere. on pc it just takes me to the channel linup and there is NO info on how to restore ID. it does say ID is in a LOWER package than the one i have, but that should mean its included in the higer packages too, right??? but no it doesnt seem to be.
My parents who live right down the road from me, had a similiar situation over this channel last fall. my dad had attempted to adjust their over-inflated bundled services fee when their last 'contract' expired, and when he did they dropped moms favorite channel -- ID. mom pitched a fit, she watches that channel all day everyday, made him call back and fix it. In the end they had to change their package losing several premium movie channels Showtime Cinemax and something else) AND pay an extra $70/month for the new bundle, just to get 1 channel restored -- 899 ID. But when i call comcast and ask how i can get it back im told i cant, even though i have a higher premium package than my mom, and for some reason my mom is actually now paying as much as i am to have fewer channels than i do, except hers but includes this one 899 Investigation Discovery.
WTH COMCAST. what kind of crazy racketeering business are you into???? why cant you fix this problem and stop skrowing customers???

Hi, I also miss the ID Channel and i am very irritated with Comcast for taking it away. So i emailed the discovery channel to find out what was going on and they said the below.
We understand that this can be confusing and frustrating for our loyal fans and therefore recommend you contact Xfinity to let them know that you are disappointed in their decision to not offer ID in their new packages. Viewer demand for a network is the best way to ensure it is added back to your channel line-up.

just a quick update, i have learned that almost all the neighboring areas/zipcodes around me (within 10 mile radius) still include ID channel in their comcast packages, just not my particular area!
we just got Roku, which I setup today thinking that would help get access - like cord cutters keep telling me to try.. well no, it didnt matter. Yes you can connect IDGO through Roku (which i did) BUT your cable provider has to have the channel in order for the content to be available.
I'm so extremely disgusted about this situation!! paying 300/mo for comcast bundle package, more than half that cost for cable tv services, being forced to accept channels i dont want to get the ones i do and having channels i wanted to keep taken away with no alternative to keep them... when i can find enough streaming alternatives to cable i will be cord cutting. im tired of comcast telling me what i am allowed to watch - and reaping my checkbook in the process!

Same here - I switched to a new bundled package and lost the ID channel, not realizing that it would only be available under olde/grandfathered plans. I too would pay a monthly fee for this channel but that doesn't appear to be an option. For over $300/mo, I would think I'd be able to have one of our favorite channels, but doesn't appear so. This is in addition to the other bait and switch tactics, such as previously including Starz, Cinemax, and TLC in old X1 Premier Triple Play service package and now removing them (with no corresponding decrease to the monthly package price) and looking to charge extra for these. Bold, very bold and I'm going to need to move to a satellite provider.

I'm just a fan of this channel.
I JUST found out now that this channel is not available to any Comcast customer, no matter the plan that you have. The representative who revealed this “they have not come to an agreement” issue suggested that I go to YouTube and I can view ID programs there. That’s fine and dandy, and I’ll do that in the meantime, every now and then, but I would much rather see it on my TV from the package that I PAY for, which is SUPPOSED to INCLUDE this channel.

It’s not coming back and it said something about a digital package but to everybody who’s upset you’re not getting that I’m not getting it and they absolutely lie!!
