Channel 16

When will Xfinity begin carrying Channel 16 in the SLC area.  I want to watch the Utah Mammoth games and I can't believe that this local channel is not part of the Xfinity channel lineup.

user_d060a9, Thanks so much for reaching out to Xfinity Support. I did some checking for you, and the Sportsnet Rocky Mountain (formerly known as AT&T SportsNet Rocky Mountain) is ceasing operations at 11:59:59 a.m. Eastern Time (ET) on December 31, 2023. This network won't be available through Comcast or any cable or satellite provider. You can tune into other broadcast channels available with your Xfinity package. You can also say "sports" into your Xfinity Voice remote to explore all sports catergorized by sports and league, live events, sports shows and upcoming events.

@ThatDonGuy Yes.  @thatdonguy is correct.  I want to watch the Utah Mammoth games that are broadcast on KUPX.

Why can’t they just simulcast the games on Fox 13 when the Mammoth are playing? If there is other programming going on that channel, I understand why not. But if there is nothing, why can’t they just substitute programming from one station to the other? Fox 13 OWNS KUPX!!! Just substitute the programming on the two channels when Mammoth games are on and you don’t have to carry the network!!!!

Xfinity does not carry KUPX in Salt Lake City. I am sorry about that. Alternatives would be to use an over-the-air antenna, and there are a few streaming apps that offer it as well. We do appreciate your feedback.

This discussion has been going on for over a year. We are paying a local broadcast fee but not getting all of the local broadcast channels especially Utah 16. Fox 13\Scribb is saying Comcast doesn't want to do the rebroadcast.

So why can’t they air it on like a dead channel that only comes on live during Mammoth broadcasts? Or just substitute the Fox 13 programming to KUPX on nights when the Mammoth are playing? That’s the easiest solution I can think of. This would allow and Fox National programming to still air as usual while giving those in Utah who have Xfinity the ability to watch mammoth games without having to subscribe to additional content providers or use an antenna. I mean, you carry the Utah Jazz. Why not the Mammoth?!?! They’re owned by the same owner!!!! The Mammoth are arguably more popular than the Utah Jazz!!

Why are Utah Jazz games available to watch as a part of the Xfinity sports package and the Utah Mammoth games are not?

Good afternoon user_ow3h0l. Do you know what channel they would usually air on? I would be happy to look into this further.

This discussion is over 2 years old and still no action. We are paying a local broadcast fee of $44/month. Utah 16 (KUPX) is a local channel. Why can't we get it even though we are paying the local broadcast. I am looking at Sumo Fiber and their TV service carriers the channel and their service for Fiber, TV, and Phone is $20 cheaper before tax than xFinity.
