Aspect Ration

Why does Xfinity modify all movies to fit the 16:9 screen. I don't rent on dem and movies from Xfinity because I want to see the whole picture not just 76% of it. If amovie is filmed in 2:35 to 1 it should be shown that way. I would by an ultra wide screen tv if I could.
