Why do new customers get better deals?
Just got off the phone with customer service after I saw an advertisement for the 5y/1 gig internet plan. I asked about it but was then told that offer was only for new customers - IF I wanted that service I would have to pay more for it because I have been with Xfinity since 2020. I was also told that if I cancelled my plan I would not be considered a new customer for another 3 months.
Why are new customer's being offered better pricing? Should I switch to another provider and just keep hopping from provider to provider?

Hi there, @User_Sc1234! Thanks for reaching out to us here on the Community Forum! With introductory offers, the intent is to give folks an incentive to try our services, so they can see the value and reliability of it and hopefully continue at a regular rate. Every single customer gets an introductory rate, whatever may be available when they signed up as I am sure you did. We also understand that our valued existing members would like a great deal as well. To that end, we normally have other eligible offers available. We can check to see what you may be eligible for right now too! Please send a direct message to us by clicking the chat icon in the upper right corner of the page, click on the pen and paper icon, then enter “Xfinity Support” in the “To” section. Please include your full name and complete street address.
