Why did Xfinity sent me a Late Payment notice when I am on time with my automatic payments?

I got an email today saying that Xfinity has not received my payment even though I am setup with automatic for years!  Is this a mistake?

I would check with your bank to see if they made the payment.

Hi @user_d78173 , thank you for reaching out over Xfinity Forums. Welcome to the community! I can understand the confusion you feel. Automatic payments are awesome and can really simplify our lives but only if everything goes smoothly. We certainly appreciate your loyalty over the years.

First, you will want to make sure that we still have your current card/account on file. From personal experience, when a card is replaced (lost or expired) and the old card is cancelled, your automatic payment will not process with the bank till we have the new card on file. I suggest checking the My Account App to make sure all information is up to date. This link will walk you through the process https://comca.st/3qGCzxP.

If you are still having troubles, our team would be happy to help. Please send us a private message. To send a private message click the chat icon in the upper right corner. Once prompted send your full name, name of account holder (if different), and address to the shared handle “Xfinity Support”. We look forward to hearing from you!

I no longer work for Comcast.

Thanks for the response.

Current billing payment was charged to my credit card so my information is up to date and correct and I've not had a problem ever with this process.

Just want to make sure that this email about late payment was more likely sent in error and/or will not affect my credit score.

Thank you

A Comcast shareholder

I also received a "Late Payment Notice" email even though my autopay payment was processed as expected.

Hi @user_a3d20e , I am glad that you have brought this to our attention. It is possible that we have sent out notices in error (this has happened before). I understand this can be concerning. I would like to double check your account to make sure everything is perfect. Can you send us a private message? To send a private message click the chat icon in the upper right corner. Once prompted send a message with your full name, full name of account holder (if different) and service address to our shared handle “Xfinity Support”.

This has also happened to me.  My account info as provided by Xfinity on-line says that I have paid (via auto-pay) on time and that I have a credit balance.  (The credit stems from some sort of sports-channel refund that Xfinity passed on to their customers).  I'm going to guess that somehow that refund was not handled well by the Xfinity billing software.  In any case, I am ignoring the e-mail claiming I paid late (for now) and will wait for a subsequent "mia culpa" email from Xfinity.

Hello, @NetwrkrPrime! I would like to look into what caused the alert to generate for you. I know we had an issue last month were an alert was sent out in error for automatic payments, but I haven not seen any reports this month. The alert may have generated due to the weekend or a delay in the payment fully processing as well. Please send us a Direct Message with your first and last name. The message icon is located at the top right of the Community Forum page, clicking on the message icon will allow you to initiate a chat conversation with us directly. Please ensure you are sending your message to our 'Xfinity Support' handle.

I no longer work for Comcast.
