We are sheep led to slaughter at Xfinity
I have never been so frustrated ,dissapointed and on the verge of tears today with my experience with Xfinity. I had called last Friday about my bill 5 days ago because it jumped from $145 per month to $193 per month for no apparent reason yet I learned that my promo rate had expired. I was able to reach a live agent, a nice lady in the Phillipines who said that she could reduce my bill by reducing my internet speed to $125 per month. I was required to install a new modem which would be sent to my house from Xfinity that night with easy instructions on the installation. I had plans for the weekend so today I was going to try and do the new install. I could not install the modem because my house has old equipment and the connectivity is outside the house. So I made the deadly mistake of calling to request a technician come over to update my antiquated system. Up until this point everything was fine both cable and internet humming along. So today I am still on hold going on 3.5 hours and still my TV is not connected. The lady in the Phillipines without my knowlege tried to refresh my TV for no reason, and the whole thing to shut down. I unplugged it and waited a couple of times and still have no cable and thank God my internet is working. She kept me on hold for 90 minutes and when I asked to speak to a supervisor just put me on a death hold until I gave up and called back. Now I am talking to a nice guy in Egypt. He explained that I changed my services to NOW TV back in July to reduce my bill and that I no longer had Xfinity cable. I am utterly and completely confused having never known that I have NOW TV. I did not even know it that...and I was still online with all the old equipment until I called. So as I write, I am 3.5 hours unresolved in Egypt. I have to go back to my old plan $170 per month if he can refresh my cable today. My new plan offers faster internet speed....which is not that important to me....(I am not running a stock trading firm but ok. I have been tied up all day can't take calls, can't do any phone work or even clean up emails while on hold and dealing with Xfinity. About an hour ago, I literally began to cry and tears just came out due to the frustration and money that Xfinity has caused me personall. This is a sign of a very bad company to upset a valued long time customer who is are trying to do the best they can to keep their services going and they make it impossible. This is a monopoly control that is farmed out to foreign countries and making us out to be sheep led to slaughter. We cannot get out of the swamp we get sucked into and an internal mess during contact of this very poorly run company with a total lack of leadership and customer care. Now I am waiting for Egypt to refresh my TV now that all the updates have been approved by me through text messages and they are not returning to the phone. I have been on hold for 30 minutes and total on the phone with Egypt for 1:48 minutes. I still have no TV. I think I am going to hang up and see if I can call in again....but my day is wasted and I can't watch my program. Sadly they swept the fee of $193 out of my checking account yesterday. I hope I get a new cable company soon.

Concern moved here to the Billing help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

Hello, @user_wmc5a7 thank you for reaching out over Xfinity Forums. We're always looking for ways to improve as a company and this sounds like an area to get more training done to improve your experience. I'm a remote worker myself, so if I was in your shoes I would be equally upset with the situation and looking to get the concerns resolved.
Our wonderful Forum expert @EG was ablet to move your post and bring this concern to my attention. Please let me know if your still needing assistance as I want to ensure all your services are working correctly, I look forward to hearing back from you.

In Conclusion, Egypt said he can't help me and that I need to go to an Xfinity store and request them to help me with the TV as the boxes have not been pickingup the signal but they were fine until I called in. Also, I was calling in again thinking I could brush my teeth and wash up and change while I was trying on last time before I went to work tonight. I got a live agent in India....can you believe that? So today in order to solve my problem which is unresolved as present, I spoke to the Phillipines for 3 hours, Egypt for 2 hours, India for 1 hour and back to the Phillipines. I am amazed at this company's lack of Americana. I am sitting here tonight in silence and my TV is off the grid. That was my day!!! except I did go to my teaching job and now home
