Unreturned equipment fee

Today, I went to the store to cancel the service and went through the process. However, since I lost the device during the move, I informed the staff of this.

The staff member then said that the cost for the lost device was $750, but if I paid in cash right away, it would only be $280.

When I told him I didn't have any cash, he said I could just wait and withdraw some from an ATM right away.

To be honest, I was flustered, and since I didn’t know the going rate for late fees, I immediately got some cash and paid him.

Was this really the correct procedure?

Concern moved here to the Billing help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

Hi there, @user_l7lfi6. Thanks for reaching out to us here on the Community Forum. This is not a procedure that I am aware of. You would usually be charged on your final billing statement or a future statement for unreturned devices. I would like to take a look at your account for any notes.
