Scripps channels
I am writing to formally complain about the removal of Scripps network channels from my Xfinity television package while my monthly bill remains unchanged.
This situation is unacceptable. I am being charged for a level of service that Xfinity is no longer providing. The channels that were part of my subscription were a key factor in my decision to maintain this package, and their removal significantly reduces the value of what I am paying for.
What is especially frustrating is the lack of accountability shown to customers. There has been no automatic credit issued, no meaningful effort to adjust billing, and no clear communication outlining how long this disruption will last or what resolution is being pursued.
To be clear, I expect the following:
- An immediate prorated credit for the loss of Scripps channels
- A reduction in my monthly bill for as long as these channels are unavailable
- The option to change or cancel my service without any penalty due to this reduction in service
- Transparent communication regarding the status of this dispute and expected timeline for resolution
If this matter is not addressed promptly, I am prepared to escalate further by filing complaints with the Federal Communications Commission and my state’s consumer protection office.
I have been a paying customer and expect to receive the service I am billed for. I look forward to your prompt response and a fair resolution.

Apparently you can get a credit, see below for what Winnie 121 posted.

I second your dissatisfaction. Letter was beautifully articulated.

I'll just cancel Comcast services after 31 years of being a customer.
Xfinity will go bankrupt... LET ME REPHRASE THAT.... ( Xfinity and Scripps ) will go bankrupt because I'm pretty sure others will follow.
It's 2026 people, there are other ways of watching these channels! Think about all the customers you'll have to refund all because you can't come up with a reasonable contract between the 2 companies.
ABC & NBC are regular channels and there is no excuse for this!
That's one [Edited: language] of a lawsuit they're looking directly at!
Is it really worth all the commotion and grief they are causing by doing this?
Is it?

I have no sympathy whatsoever for Xfinity in their current financial stalemate with Scripps Broadcasting. Every year, my Xfinity bill goes up significantly (I am now paying almost $300 monthly for my basic cable service), and every year, Xfinity not only charges me more, but removes a few more cable channels. This year I lost FX, SyFy and E! These losses, plus losing channels like the Food Network and Turner Classic Movies in years past have been annoying enough, but now, to have lost my local ABC affiliate station (KMGH) in Denver, this is the last straw. I have lodged a complaint with the FCC, I've sent letters to Xfinity both at their headquarters address and to the local office in Denver, and I've now had phone conversations with Xfinity representatives. I do not want to hear that "Xfinity has made reasonable offers" to Scripps Broadcasting for the restoration of the Scripps-owned stations. This means absolutely nothing to me. If Xfinity will not fix the issue, then I will. If by May first the ABC affiliate isn't restored to my choice of channels, I am cancelling my account with Xfinity.

On behalf of my 82-year-old mother, I am complaining about a) the suspension of Scripps channels and b) how difficult it is just to complain to Xfinity about a problem. I agree with the above complaints and insist on credits or refunds for the lost programming from April 1.
Enough is enough. It's time to come to an agreement with Scripps and get my local ABC affiliate and related stations back onto Xfinity cable in the Denver area.
I pay over $350 per month, and I can't even get ABC?! That's already a stretch when I'm 82 years old and on a limited income. Paying that much, I'm supposed to subscribe to *another* streaming service to see ABC news or other ABC programming?! Give me a break.
In the meantime, give me a refund: I expect a refund on my next bill, covering all suspended programming from April 1.
I am very unhappy with this situation. Fix it.
