Rising costs of services

I have had Xfinity internet, security, and cable services for 13 years. My monthly bill has averaged around 300-350 per month. It has recently gone up to 400. Currently getting charged $125 per month for Internet . My neighbor just signed up for the same internet service with Xfinity for $50 a month with 1 GB for the five years. I called in today to see if they would just match the same price the neighbor got as a new customer and the answer was “no”.   Definitely tells you something about how they treat long-term customers. I scheduled cancelation of all of my Xfinity services today for the end of the month as I search alternative company

Hi @user_mmk8wu, thank you for taking the time to create an official post! We would certainly hate to see you go as before your 15th anniversary, but we understand that sometimes we need to scope out the competition to make sure we have truly found the right fit for our needs. Keep in mind that at one point you also received a new customer promotion that allowed you to experience our services at a lower cost. That is the purpose of these promotions, to provide customers with the opportunity to experience the services that we work so hard to improve.

Have any Xfinity related questions come to mind since your earlier conversations?

Yes, there is a lot of competition in this  space. Especially for tv streaming services and broadband. unfortunately it appears with your billing structure. Xfinity is being priced out of the competition. I was the last hold out in my neighborhood with Xfinity cable TV. Now that my package price has increased to $400 it’s time to jump on the cord cutting bandwagon. Also, since you bring up that I had a promotion at one time. Well, that was 14 years ago. I don’t think it justifies me having to paying $80 a month more than my neighbor for the next five years for the same Internet service.

We are certainly in a very busy industry, @user_mmk8wu. I would recommend keeping an eye on trends, you'll notice that the industry as a whole has a very similar billing structure. The main difference would be in the features and quality of service that each service provider can bring to their customers. We do our best to make sure that we balance improvements with cost. During your research, make sure you are evaluating the recent history as well. Regardless of your decision, our community will be here to assist in any way we can.
