Regional Sports Fee

I don't watch sports so why do I have to pay this fee?  Can I opt out?

As long as you have TV service that includes Regional Sport channels, they'll charge you the Regional Sports fee. The only way to avoid these is to drop back to a tier without Regional Sports, or to cancel TV service altogether. See https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/most-common-taxes-fees-surcharges-on-your-bill.

I agree!!  This is an unnecessary fee, when I can't stand sports!

This will only continue to increase with more and more people dropping cable.

If there is an additional charge for something so specific, we deserve the right to choose if we want it or not. I vote to do away with it.

Hello @aulstar, thank you for taking the time to reach out to us on the forums. I hope you are having a fantastic day so far. As BruceW outlined earlier in this thread these fees are attached to the cable TV service if you have sports channels in your lineup. I will list more information on the regional sports fee below for you.

The Regional Sports Network Fee is an itemized charge on your bill based on our costs of providing the regional sports networks we carry on our cable systems in each area. These costs include the fees that regional sports networks charge us to carry them on our cable systems, fees that are among the fastest-growing components of our programming costs. The Regional Sports Network Fee isn't a government-imposed or mandated fee and increases from time to time.

The only way to opt-out of these fees would be to remove the cable portion of your TV or move to a lower tier that doesn't include sports programming.

I no longer work for Comcast.
