Rate increases even while under contract?
I have been a loyal xfinity customer ever since moving here 7 years ago. I have been notified that my rates are going up December 18 right before Christmas even though I’m still under contract until 2024? I believe this is illegal at best and certainly not how to treat loyal retired customers especially after I negotiated my fixed rate for two years.

The contract only covers the level of service you signed up for. Other fees and taxes can change at any time.

Hello @user_646075. Thank you so much for reaching out to us today. I can definitely understand how frustrating it would be to get an increase notice. With our agreements, the service charge will be consistent for the length of the term, but equipment, taxes, and fees can change at any time. I would be happy to look into this for you.
Could you please send our team a direct message with your full name and full address?
To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:
Click "Sign In" if necessary
Click the "Direct Messaging" icon
Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there
- As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list
- An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
Press Enter to send it

I guess the frustration is that even though I’m getting these so called discounts off my equipment and cable tv phone and internet are bundled together they have informed me that my bill is going up regardless ! This is not how you honor a contract for multiple years. I’m retired and on a fixed income and no matter what I negotiated they find all these loopholes to raise my rate anyway.

I have been retired for more than 15 years. I understand where you are coming from. A majority of retired people are in the same situation as you.

Same. I'm informed they're raising the rate for my gigabit extra and decreasing my autopay discount (which was a requirement on their end for the service). Mine ends July 2023.

I have a contract through 2023! I received notification that my rates were going up in December. I had to retire early due to extensive back surgery. I am on a very low fixed income and have to watch EVERY penny. I don't understand how you can have a contract for a year, but yet Xfinity can raise the prices!!! If I had broken the contract and canceled my services, you can bet I would have had to pay a hefty cancelation fee!! So, apparently, I'm under contract by Xfinity is not! Xfinity has THE worst customer service, but they don't care!! Unless you want to use satellite, you're pretty much STUCK with the sorry Xfinity service!

Perhaps I require a clearer explanation from Comcast. I understand various fees and taxes can be raised. However, while under a contract, which I am, the bundle price for services is supposed to remain the same. If this is true, then how is Comcast raising the price of gig speed extra internet when that is part of my bundle? Am I missing something?
