Partial Charges

My current offer for Xfinity WiFi has expired so I picked a new plan that was advertised as "+$20.00" a month. My old plan was $30.00 a month so the new one should be $50.00 a month. When agreeing to the contract it said my monthly fee would be "$50.55" which is what I was expecting. Why is it now that my first up coming charge for the new plan is $72.27??? What are "Partial Charges"??? Why am I being billed for them if they were not noted when I was signing up for the new contract?
