over data each month

I don't really understand how this works.  How do I know what activity is using data and what is not?  Are there ways to reduce the amount of data used?  We have 5 people living at home.  So, we have 5 phones, 4 tvs, 5 computers etc... I don't know how to control the amount of data used so we don't go over and I am charged extra each month.

Anything connected to your modem or tv box [especially X1] uses data.

If you have overages you might want to consider add Unlimited Data.

Hi there! I'd be glad to ensure that this gets looked into further. Please click on my handle (ComcastRob) and send a private message with your name, the complete service address (including city, state, ZIP, suite number, etc), and the phone or account number, and any pertinent details-- like the ticket number(s)-- so we can help.

They have an easy fix for that... just pay $30 extra per month to Con-cast.  We're in the same boat sadly.

There's a big thread on this.

There are a number of ways to figure out where data is going from simple process of elimination to more complex and detailed methods of installing your own router, including making one by putting router software on a PC.
