My address is blocked due to previous tenant

We moved into my new residence Oct 1st 2023, ln November my fiance and I got a self install internet kit from xfinity and put it in her name but used my credit card to pay for the kit. The internet worked fine for about 3 days and was shut off I went to the xfinity store with my equipment to see if it was bad.  I was informed that I had a previous unpaid balance of $161.00 and service would be restored once I paid this. So I paid my bill and service was restored. Four hours later and it was shut back off. Now I am being told that the previous tenant owes money. They took a copy of my lease, and said that service would not be restored until I pay it. I'm not paying someone elses bill. Now I don't know what to do I live up near Lookout Mountain and need internet service Please Help

Hi, @user_e8c2vr! Thanks for taking the time to leave a post on our forums page for help with getting that blocked removed so you can have internet service again. We are honored by your loyalty and choosing to keep us as your internet service provider. We are the perfect place to go for help from a team of virtual experts. Are you still able to contact the primary account holder who was the previous tenant? What I can do is have an email sent to you with a link to upload a completed account change request form and any necessary supporting documents. If you don’t have an email address you can simply download the form in the following link and bring it to your local XFINITY store with your required supporting documentation for further assistance. The change of account ownership may result in the disconnection of the existing account and the creation of a new account, depending on the scenario. Please also allow three business days from your time of submission for a representative to contact you about completing your account ownership change request. I just recently helped another customer with an account change request and they were so happy that they did not have to actually go to the store. If you would like to go to the store, this is ok too as we would love to see you again to proceed with the change request! How does this sound? Here is a great link to more details on the account change process. Please let me know if this helps.

Isnt an account change request form for taking over someone elses account, what good is that going to do me? I dont want the previous tenants bill and they moved to Arizona and I don't have contact with them. They must have shut their account off when they moved, and I am just trying to turn on new service for my fiance and myself. This has been a runaround for almost a month. I keep getting told someone will get ahold of me and have it fixed, and noone ever gets ahold of me. I allready brought in my lease which was copied at the store and put in my file. I can send a copy of my Drivers license which has my previous address on it. Plus I have had service with xfinity in the past also at my previous address.  So I don't get it
