Internet speed plan changed without my consent!

I originally signed up for the 600 Mbps internet service for $45 per month for the first year. After just over six months, I checked my bill and noticed that my internet speed had been changed to 1 Gbps, and my monthly bill increased to $70. I did not request or authorize any upgrade to my service.

What I’m understanding from this is that—even before the first year ends—Xfinity can change and add services without customer authorization and expect customers to pay for them. It would have been appropriate to receive a notice at the very least, but instead it feels like the change was made quietly in hopes that I wouldn’t notice.

user_v27rey Hi there! Thanks for using our Forums and for contacting our Xfinity Support Team. We are here happy to help you go over you plan and to see what is going on with the recent plan change. To get started can you shoot us over a DM with your complete name and service address?

To send a "direct message" / "private message" message to Xfinity Support:

  • Click "Sign In" if necessary
  • Click the "Direct Message" icon or https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging
  • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
  • The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there
  • As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list
  • An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
  • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
  • Press Enter to send it
