Finding and returning lost modems

There's a rumor going around that Comcast will credit a customers account. If they return found modems or any type of equipment to an Xfinity store regardless if it's there or not is this true?

People are supposed to return their Comcast equipment when moving from apartments, home, etc.

If the people moving in return the equipment to Comcast, it would make sense to give them some sort of credit.

However, I have never heard of that rumor, nor seen it mentioned on the forum.

Hi there, @user_0225Aw!

That is not something myself or the colleagues that I have asked have ever heard of. Returning Comcast rented equipment would remove a non-return fee if one has been charged (those are no fun, and a good reason to return rented equipment within 30 days!), but there is not a credit applied for returning equipment.

Thank you for asking! I hope that clears things up, but please let us know if you have any other questions! We appreciate your participation in our Forum community!
