expired credit card

After 38 years as a customer, I’m appalled by today’s experience. My autopay was declined due to an expired card, with no advance notice to update it. When I called to pay, I was told I had to visit a store. A supervisor was rude and hung up when I asked for her name and employee ID. This is unacceptable. If I must drive to a store to provide payment information that should be accepted by phone or online, I’ll be shopping for a new TV and internet provider.

sam125 We do appreciate you sharing your experience with us as this isn't our standard when it comes to customer service. We will use your feedback for opportunities to improve in the future. When it comes to adding a new card, my team doesn't have that capability to do that on our end. Did you try adding a new payment from the Xfinity app?

I also tried using the Xfinity app, only to be told that I must go to a store to make a payment. I find it difficult to understand how visiting a brick-and-mortar store can resolve an online payment problem when Xfinity’s own online support has been unable to help.

I would rate my experience with Xfinity’s online support as very poor. Either the representatives lack the training or interest needed to provide meaningful customer service, or they simply lack the tools and authority to resolve customer problems effectively.

I understand the need to control operating costs, including the use of overseas call centers. However, I wish Xfinity executives would personally experience the support process their customers must navigate. Trying to communicate (language barrier) with representatives, explain a straightforward problem repeatedly, and still fail to obtain a resolution might give them a much better understanding of the customer experience and the need for meaningful improvements.

My frustration is not the result of one disappointing customer service experience. It reflects years of dissatisfaction with Xfinity’s service and support. This latest incident has reinforced my concerns and has me seriously considering alternative providers. Customer loyalty should not be taken for granted, particularly when customers repeatedly encounter unnecessary obstacles just trying to resolve basic issues.

I can understand where you are coming from @sam125. The issue is if the account has been blocked from a specific payment method, there is no way for that to be removed, and it can take up to 6 months for the system to lift the restriction. Have you tried using a bank account instead of a card?
