Comcast contract is not really a contract
Just got off the phone with Comcast representative about my increase with a contract. I am in the same boat with many Comcast customers from what I am reading.
I signed a two-year contract in December 2020.. I’ve been a Comcast customer for over 20 years. I have never felt as bamboozled as I feel right now it’s truly highway robbery!
Comcast has increased my bill by $20 one year into my two year contract! Live Customer service is always outside the USA, I have difficulty many times understanding them. I feel they don’t seem to care how I feel all they say is “we are truly sorry but you signed an agreement” without trying to make me happy. I am going to leave Comcast when my contract is over I will never sign a contract with Comcast ever again! One unhappy customer will ruin your day many unhappy customers will ruin your business. Comcast has become greedy! There are many competitors out there now more than before.. my son just signed up with YouTube TV and he loves it! I will explore that avenue. Sadly Comcast will have lost a true loyal customer of over 20 years.

@avraham_benlulu You really need to re-read the text of the contract you signed. There may be a clause saying the price may increase at one-year anniversary and also that Comcast retains the right to make increases depending on conditions.

You can have a package plan at one price, but within that package you may have a promotion that lasts 3 or 6 months or a year, and when that promotion ends your bill will increase unless you decline whatever promotion you had been on, ie HBO for three months, and at the end of that you get charged for HBO unless you decline it.
Also, unless your contract specifically states that any equipment fees, taxes, and surcharges are included in the price of your package, those tend to rise periodically, as in the Regional Sports Fee and the Broadcast Fee. So, chances are your bill is reflecting an increase in one of those two fees, if not both of them. This is why it is very important to read all of your contract at the time it is presented to you.

Ok so why do customers with long standing accounts and excellent history of payment get screwed? Comcast wants to advertise all the free education zones that have started...they aren't free...the paying customer is being billed with increased rates...it would be nice if for once Comcast would value their customers. After 40+ years with Comcast, I am going to start looking at other options because an increase of $25.00/month on basic services than add the taxes it puts my bill up to over $280 next month and we have one big box and one little box...that is 2 tvs with the triple play program...it is insanity...retired people can't keep getting increases so those who don't want to work or can't work get things for free!
