CHARGED AFTER CANCELLATION

I know that other people have gone through the same problem, but I am posting this here to (a) raise people's awareness and (b) hear how other people have resolved this show of utter incompetency.

I have cancelled my plans a month prior to my move-out (August 1), and upon cancellation I have received the assurance of the agent **twice** that there will be no charging of bills after August 2, and whatever that was charged for services after August 2 will be refunded.

Lo and behold, today I opened up my billing statement to notice that (a) I **have** been charged for the August 11 - September 10 cycle, and (b) that I have even been charged a "return" fee for having my July payment rejected from a card number that I neither recognize nor own. This is not only shocking but also quite infuriating, and I am wondering what other people have done to resolve such problems.
