Billing Issue after Cancellation - why am I being charged another month?

I'm hoping to get some clarification on a billing issue following a service cancellation. I requested to cancel my internet service on April 12th. I recently received a notice dated May 1st stating that my last day of service is scheduled for May 12th. I'm concerned about being charged for service I did not use after my cancellation request date.

Could someone please clarify why the service end date is May 12th, a month after my cancellation request? Is this the standard cancellation timeframe?

Any insight or assistance in reviewing my account and adjusting the billing would be greatly appreciated.

skimming1226 I would be reaching out if I were in your shoes too. This could just be a system generated email as sometimes those can get sent out even after an account is disconnected, but our team is happy to invetigate your account to make sure everything is correct. When you closed your account did you get an email saying your account was set to be disconnected?

Yes, I have received the confirmation email when I called Xfinity to end my service.
