Billing Increase
Just received my latest statement. Am just starting the 2nd year of a 2 year "agreement". My rate for equipment rentals went up 50%. How can cost go up for something that has not changed. Xfinity service charges increased by 20% and internet costs rose $5. Tried chat line. The response was Xfinity costs rose? Need to increase cost to maintain "high level of service" customers demand? What about reasonable pricing. Outside costs increased out of our control?
The cost increases were all under Xfinity, not outside. I changed nothing in my lineup to cause the increase. The last response from chat was if you reduce your content you may save some costs. I would just like what Xfinity's agreement with me included. I would expect if I leave, Xfinity would certainly want me to meet the agreement. Seems one sided.

I have same situation. To be sure, though, did the price of each of your extra boxes increase from $5 per month to $7.50 per month?
Crazy, I agree.

Equipment fees, surcharges and taxes are not part of your plan unless completely specified in your agreement. And, FWIW, as the cost of technology rises, Comcast has to pass some of the cost to customers, otherwise you wouldn't have any services, including internet or streaming services. Costs are rising everywhere and all ISPs are raising prices, and so are most streaming services like Hulu and Netflix.

I understand costs go up with fees, etc. However, what rational explains that the rental cost goes up (50%) for equipment that is already in my home? That makes no sense. Not a expert in Comcast?Xfinity but now I understandf why more customers are leaving cable providersd for other low cost alternative.

Hi @boyspartan, and thank you for posting your question to the Xfinity Forum! That is a great question. I wanted to let you know that the rental fee for equipment has increased across our service footprint. We started sending notifications on your monthly bill around November 20, 2020 - December 19, 2020, regarding the service rate and equipment changes. These can be found on the last pages of the bill. If you want to discuss your services and your monthly rate to see if there is any way we can save you money each month, please send a private message including your first and last name and the numbers associated with your service address.
To send me a private message, click on "ComcastChe," and then click send a message.

I agree with boyspartan in not understanding why there's a 50% increase for boxes that are already in our homes, and in some cases, for many years. The only answers given are that yes, costs go up. This is understandable for infrastructure, but not for rental equipment that we already have. Maybe if we swapped it out for newer equipment, the increase at the time of swap-out could be justified.

This increase was combined with a "courtesy adjustment" on my bill making the total very confusing. Bad bookkeping practice! I spent a long chat with an agent, trying to understand the overall increase. Xfinity sent me an email about the "courtesy adjustment," but I'm expected to peruse page after page to discover the hidden boost?

Once again, my monthly bill has jumped around $50 month. Called CS, they said they had no promotions. Are there any promotions available for cable/ voice/ internet.
