Billing dispute — existing customer paying $95/mo for 600 Mbps
To Xfinity Customer Care,
I'm writing about my internet bill. As an existing customer, I'm being charged $95/month for 600 Mbps service.
I was never properly notified that my promotional pricing was ending and my rate was changing. The only disclosure was fine print on page 3 of my bill. When I called customer service about this, I was told to "read the bill." Burying a price increase of this size in fine print — and then pointing customers to it after the fact — is not meaningful notice. A rate change like this warrants clear, advance communication.
This price is also not competitive with what Xfinity itself offers:
- New customers are being offered the same 600 Mbps tier for around $40/month — less than half of what I pay.
- Your own current plan pricing lists 1 Gbps service at or below what I'm paying for 600 Mbps.
And it's not competitive with the market. A fiber provider at my address [Edited: Personal Information] offers 1,000 Mbps symmetrical fiber for $40/month with no contract.
I am asking for one of two things:
1. Re-price my 600 Mbps plan to match your current new-customer/retention pricing, or
2. A retention offer at comparable market pricing.
If you cannot adjust my rate, I will cancel and switch providers. I would prefer to stay with Xfinity, but the current pricing is unrealistic.
