Add my sons number to my plan
On June 16th 2026 I tried to add my son to my plan. I live in a town 65 miles away from him. He had been on my X wife’s plan since he was a child. He had a iPhone 14 Pro plus max or something like that. I went through the process. I first made sure the phone was compatible. I was told yes it was. Then the next day I received a call saying that the order did not go through and that I needed the old numbers account number and PASS code to release the number to them. Mind you, the key word from before was, “my X wife”. This caused a huge fight with her that I won’t go into. I got the account number and the code. Then as we were finalizing the switch the person on the line told me, “okay now open the phone and go to settings”. I about fainted and said that the phone is with my son in a different town and that I CANNOT OPEN THE PHONE! Oh my goodness he just switched the phone over into the either and no way to proceed. I didn’t even have a number I could reach my son on. So then I went to a local store in Santa Fe where I live in person only to walk into Zach Brown at full volume and I’m a disabled man recovering from a third back surgery that has failed and I asked the young man could we please turn it down so I could explain my situation and he flat out said NO! This store is in the Devargas Mall in Santa Fe New Mexico. I continued to speak, he kept looking at his phone as if texting a friend and I asked should I wait until he is finished and could help me. No answer, a deadpan look so I continued to explain.. then minutes later he said, “wait, what? you have sparked my interest”. I could barely stay in the store I was so angry. Then he told me there was no way they could help me (Zach Brown is still at full volume) and that since my son was in Albuquerque that I would have to go there to handle the situation in person. It’s the 18th at this point three days in, 100% disabled and being forced to drive 130 miles round trip to deal with the East Indian Activation Department’s mistake. I went there in person to deal with it. During all this I’m now being told that my son’s phone is not compatible the same kind of phone I have but his is better the Pro Max but now it’s no good. This whole process is to retain my son’s phone number!! We work in the Film Industry and our number is our main identity. He has had this number for 20 years! So I’m in the store in Albuquerque and she says his phone won’t work and somehow the East Indian Tech has put his IME number into my phone electronically and that they have never seen this done before. They have no idea how to move forward. She literally calls her boss on his day off to come in to help. This is hour two that I’ve been waiting. He comes in and tries and then I receive an email saying that I have been issued a “ticket” and that it will be resolved in 24 hours. Meaning we can’t finalize the order. She then offers me a “free ish ipad” and a deal on a new phone to see if we can go that route. Hour three still no progress and I get another “ticket “ message saying another 24 hour hold is on me for the new number and new phone,like I’m trying to illegally do something in their system. We finally agreed (my son has now arrived and taken a half day off work to help deal with this) to a temporary number and new phone because they still say his old phone is not compatible. Plus the iPad thing. This is day five a 130 mile drive no resolve and I have been getting phone calls from tech support to ask me to give them a review and feedback! The tech completely messed everything up from the beginning and bait and switched us about the phone. My son went back to the store on Saturday because of the 24 hour hold and before we knew it the next employee caused another TICKET to be issued to my account because whatever the first tech did keeps making it seem like I’m try to make a fraudulent charge or switch in my account! So day seven Sunday, I’m at home and I open up the iPad she “gave me” to then see she established a whole new iPad account number and charges that now my cellular bill went from $80 for two lines with the offer to lower my bill to $65 add my son bringing it back to the $80 so no actual increase to my bill and now the iPad lie has my monthly bill at $170.00!! I live on disability!! I don’t have any money!!
So here it is Monday morning day eight with no actual idea what I’m going to do. Our town doesn’t have many options for internet. That’s the main reason I’m with Xfinity. We have an adobe home that we rent and Century link had [Edited: "Language"] up our landlord’s wall so I won’t call them.
I now have an iPad I must return in Albuquerque another 130 mile drive and our account has a 4 to 5 day hold on it now. I will not remain with Xfinity unless they step up and give me the iPad for free with no line attached. Make my son’s phone work because it is compatible and return the iPhone she forced me into buying. I am a very compromised man as I’ve stated. I’m 63 but don’t feel like a senior citizen but look the part. They in the store took horrible advantage of me. And the sick part is they still have not transferred my sons number to my account and we think they ruined his number
