The error message is coming from the Comcast email server indicating that the Gmail IP address is blacklisted and so Comcast will not allow Gmail to fetch my emails. There is a workaround for the problem.  In Gmail, go to Settings -> See All

Yes, I have gone to xfinity website to make sure access to third party emails is turned on. This is not the problem.

@XfinityAlfonso​ I believe the reply from "user_sucapg" has it right.  For some reason Xfinity sees the Gmail IP's as blacklisted.  Why?  This is a Comcast problem -- don't know where Comcast gets its blacklists but evidently not a go

I know how to log into my Comcast account to read email and sometimes do. But much prefer to use gmail as my mail client.
