select multiple emails

Hiw do i select multiple emails? Long pressing on an email to select it and tapping on adfitional emails doesnt work for some reason. Im using an android samsung galaxy

Tapping edit and tapping the "bubbles" next to the emails turned out to be the solution to my problem. Thanks to both of you for replying to question.

When i long tap on an email it highlights it to show that it s selected but a check box doesnt appear. Tapping on another email to select it opens that email ins Instead of srlecting it.
