I received an email from Xfinity that my "Whole Home WiFi evaluation is complete" and that I have "Three xFi Pods are available to you at no extra cost". I followed the link in the email and I get to an Xfinity website that says Temporarily unavailable. I have been checking for over a month and I ge

So I did finally get a Single Pod(not the 3 I was told I was getting).  Unfortunately while you may be able to use these to bridg gaps in coverage you can't put them where you need the coverage as they actually have weaker wifi than most devices and

Kudos to the last set of comcast support folks that contacted me,. after a simple test and some validation I have a set of 3 xfi pods on their way.

Okay so i wouldn't be stating this without having looked so very far into this. I have had technicians come out three times who all have some different excuse for why my internet is so slow when i pay for 1Gbps speeds. On 5 different speedtest sites I was showing consistent 200mbps, on xfinity's spe

So for speedtest sies, yes that happensAs for Some sittes not going over 200mbps, that its to be expected you can never (ok maybe not never)get gigabit speeds from a single connection to a singles web site.  Gigabit connections for consumers are real

One, concur, never seen a VPN(including work) that support 600mbpstwo, that would mean thay they are throttling specifically the speedtest site because while on VPN they(probably) can't see where you are going but they could still throttle your traff

I need to use SSH and RDP for my job, but starting about a week ago, I can no longer connect to any of my work servers (on AWS) using these protocols (i have tried on 3 different machines) when I take my laptop to use the wifi at panera I can still connect from there, so the problem is not the machi

Had same issue inside my house.  Have computer on one LAN port of the xFi and my laptop of wifi suddenly this week would not RDP to that PC, worked fine for 3 weeks with same setup, then stopped for the last week and suddenly today works again. I've

I finally got my evaluation today after a full month, and they tell me everything looks great.  I have to say any faith in xfinity's tools are now gone.  When I go upstairs in my house on wifi6 my connection goes from 800mbps to 20mbps(and drops ofte

I had this setup before. The Xfi box is not letting my router connect all the way to the internet. Help.Xfi - Asus VPN - home network

If you can't get the pods, the you can add a router and either deal with the Double NAT(not really that big a deal), Put the Xfi in Bridge mode and lose it's abilitys, or as mentioned if your router supports it, put it in bridge or externer mode.  De

Double NAT is only an issue with port forwarding, unless you are running servers from you home I wouldn't worry about it.  The only other issue is if you use the wifi on the gateway you can't get to other devices hung off the second router.  I have m

While using a VPN my Internet speed is taking a 64%+ hit.For example - the speed test that I did today (1-28-21 at 3:30 pm Eastern) on speedtest.net shows that with my VPN off I'm getting 240 Mbps download speed. With the VPN on, it drops to 85 Mbps. Yes, I'm aware that using a VPN (extra server, en

So you have to understand that the way a VPN works(if it's working right) is that every byte of your data is fed through the proxy at your VPN.  You are at the mercy of the VPN bandwidth.  Most of the ones I have tested top out at about 200mbps at be
