Our secondary X1 box, the one that can view recorded programs but doesn't store them and doesn't have a clock on it, is very slow to navigate ANYTHING using the remote.  We have new batteries in the remote and we have unplugged the box and turned it on and off a number of times.  Any suggestions? Does anyone know how to record NEW programs on a specific channel?  When I select a show to record new episodes for, sometimes they are listed as "new" when they air on another channel as a repeat.  So I am getting tons of recordings I don't want.  ... View more

I am SO FRUSTRATED with the X1 DVR.  It seems to have a mind of its own regarding when to put a recording I've selected onto the "scheduled recordings" list.  Yes, sometimes if I shut the DVR off and then turn it back on the shows will display in "scheduled recordings" but do I really have to constantly turn the DVR on and off to ensure my show is recording?  The red dot sometimes will display on the menu if I select a show to record, but often will not.  Same goes for when I try to record shows online.  I really truly can not believe Comcast would put out a product that has obviously gone through little or no testing.  UNREAL!   Also I'd still like to know how to find out if a show, such as The Office, is available to watch ON DEMAND but not part of the Streaming pay extra service (another ridiculuous item to have to pay extra for!!!)  I just want to be able to view free ON DEMAND shows and filter out the pay to view stuff. ... Since I got X1 two days ago, I can't record anything using the online DVR manager. I used to do this all the time. When I press the record button it takes me to the screen showing what is currently set to record already (done via remote directly). When I try to record a series online, it asks the proper questions online as it used to, but never actually records or shows up on the DVR itself. I've used two browsers-- Safari and Firefox- on a MacBook Pro. Again, used to be able to do this with old system. Please help! ... View more

Thanks for the response. I didn't like the "hover" feature that gives info because it stays up too long and blocks the view of other stations.  I'm suggesting that when you see the menu, the title of the program should have NEW next to it if it is new.   Accessing favorites is a pest.  Should be one click and then go away. ... Regarding the favorites, I know how to set them and display them.  I just think it is silly that you have to make a selection to view favorites (say to record things) and then you have to go back and unsellect the filter to get the regular manu back.  Cumbersome.   ... View more

Got my X1 installed yesterday.  I can't imagine Comcast did any field GUI testing before putting this out.  The most frustrating things that never should have gotten out of the factory are that you can't skip forward for two different time periods with the XR2 like you could with the old remote.  You can only program the PG up or down with one time increment (which I changed to 30 sec).  Secondly I really hate that there is no easy way to access your favorites.  Thirdly, no time or channel display on the secondary boxes!  Really?  Also the brightness on the main box is up so high it is hard to read the time on that box.  There is so much real estate space on the box, why not make the time larger?  I also wish you could tell more easily whether a show on the guide was new or repeat.  You shouldn't have to press the info button.  There are no component capabilities using the remote.  My kids can't easily go between TV and XBOX.  Hey I've only had the new system for about 12 hours and already I can name a lot of pitfalls. ...
