Ok..... So what I did to fix it is as follows. I had 2 hdmi splitters hanging around so I thought I would try something. Take the HDMI cable coming out of the cable box , that would normally just go directly to your tv, instead plug that into the in of your splitter. I use a surround sound receiver so on the out of the splitter, connect your HDMI cable to the splitter and then to the HDMI in on the back of your receiver. Then I took the HDMI cable that is plugged into the monitor out on the receiver, which would normally go directly to your TV, and plugged that into the in of my second HDMI splitter. Then my last HDMI cable connects to the out on the splitter to the in on my TV. Once I did all that , all this rebooting and unplugging stopped and now I don't have to worry about that anymore. If you don't have a surround sound receiver then just use one HDMI splitter coming out of the cable box to the in of the splitter and then out of the splitter into your TV. If it is still doing it then use the second splitter as well. This all has to do with the handshake between your box and your receiver or your box and your tv. And by the way both of my splitters are powered HDMI splitters using an AC adapter. Hope this helps and let me know what happens.
