Maybe someone here can help. I just bought a new Netgear CM700 modem and called to have it activated. After about 30 mins on the phone, the customer service rep stated she was unable to get it to connect to their system. Mind you, I just unplugged my old modem/router which was working just fine to activate this new one. She then stated my line was good and did not see any problems on their end but I could have a Comcast tech come out for a $70 charge or return the modem for a new one and try that. She then had me switch back to my ‘old’ modem/router and everything works fine. Has anyone else had this issue? If so, what was the solution? This doesn’t make much sense to me.
