Same issue here on a Samsung A50. I turned off Wi-Fi Calling and that helped. It now reconnects to the cell tower when I leave home and disconnect from my Wi-Fi. I have poor coverage at home and I rely on Wi-Fi Calling there for consistent service, so having it disabled is particularly annoying. But it does beat leaving the house and realizing much later that your phone has had no service that whole time, which has happened more times than I can count. I've tried resetting network settings, dialing *228 for a 3G PRL update, removing and reinserting the SIM card (that's supposed to trigger a 4G/LTE PRL update), and still no fix. What phone are you on? Did you notice if your issue happened to start around the same time as the December update (around December 28th for the A50)? Hopefully this gets fixed soon. Let me know if you have any luck with a long-term solution. In the meantime, try disabling Wi-Fi calling and see if that works for you.
