I live alone and am away from home at my job most of the time and I have been going over my data limit the past few months-- usually reach my limit by day 12 of the monthly billing cycle. I thought maybe one of my neighbors was stealing my internet. So I did a test-- before I left for work I checked my data usage, then I unplugged everything from my modem. 12 hours later when I returned home I plugged everything back in and checked my usage on the Data Usage Moniter and it said I had used 70GB of data while I was gone at work. I called Comcast to complain about paying these overage fees and they said the Data Usage Monitor may not show what you have used for 24hrs. So there is no way to actually track your usage, I guess.
I don't watch cable TV at all. I stream TV shows and movies with a Roku stick about three hours per day. I don't stream on any mobile devices at home or away from home. It's hard to believe that I am part of the 1% of "super-users" that goes over the terabyte cap.
