Also check your apps that you are using as it could be an app on a phone, laptop. or tablet that is the cause. It could be something as simple as a weather app reporting your position all the time. I turn off all location services unless it is needed and only on when the app is being used if posible.
Back-up services include things like backing up your data to the cloud. Also saving or syncing you devices. Watch out for things that send your data to the cloud such as photos to Amazon Photos.

If you are using a Comcast device, I would call Comcast support and have them address the issue. I prefer and have my own modem and separate router. Over time it is cheaper and having separate devices, makes debugging issues easier. When dropping a connection with separate devices, you bypass the router by connecting direct to the modem and see if you still have an issue. If so, it is the modem or the ISP (Comcast). Otherwise it is in the router, so you debug it.

If it was me, I would be concerned. If the hacker is doing something real bad, the FBI will show up on your doorstep. They would have to be somewhat close to get your WIFI signal.
I do not know what router you have, but there are steps that you may be able to take that may help.
Change your router userid and password.
Turn off the router/Modem when not in use.
Keep checking and pausing when you notice them.
You may try moving your router or lowering the transmit power (WIFI router option) so you get the signal but the hacker does not.
Change SSIDs and passwords and use a very long hard password.
If your router has the options, a few things to try:
Make sure you are using all of the security features for WIFI.
Use WPA/WPA2 as that is the strongest.
Be sure remote management is turned off.
Set local management to be only selected PCs.
Set up wireless MAC filtering where you must enter all of the MAC addresses for all of your devices and allow only them to access the WIFI.
Set up Parental controls.

I looked at the same two modems and I got the MB8600 about a year ago and have had no issues with it. My speed tier is only 150 so I am not pushing it very hard. I do not think you can go wrong with either.

I am not using DD-WRT in my router. I have a TP-link C8. I had to play with different settings before I got it to work. The settings I used for Comcast are:
DHCPv6
Get IPv6 prefix
Get IPv6 DNS server automaticlly
IPv6 Address assign type is SLAAC
Seems like I had to reboot my router before the changes took affect.
I use https://test-ipv6.com/ to test the connection.

Consider getting your own modem (The Comcast web site has models you can use for each speed level). You can go to a highter tier but do not go lower. It is cheaper to buy than rent in the long run. You must get one on the Comcast list.
If you have only one device (PC), attach it directly to the modem and you are done.
If you have more than one device, you have two different type of devices to select from.
1) A WIFI router which you can turn on/off WIFI.
2) A non-WIFI router to plug your devices into.
You can use just about any router and if not concerned with speed, select a low priced one.
Note: This will not work for you if you have the phone attached to the combo modem/router (Gateway) .

What routers are you using?
I think I would start by powering off both the modem and router, wait 30 seconds and power on modem first, wait till it normalizes and then power on the router.
If that does not work, power cycle the router and if you have a backup of the router when it was working, reload else reenter all of the settings.

WIFI has two channels - 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz.
The 2.4 GHz is slower but works at father distances.
The 5 GHz is faster but not does not work as well at distance.
The SSIDs should be different for best performance and enables you to put specific devices on a specific channel. For example, you may want to put printers on the slower channel and your PC on the faster channel.
WIFI devices have different standards such as 802.11G, 802.11N, and 802.11AC.
“G” is the oldest and slowest. Next was “N’ which is faster. An “N” router will support both “G” and “N” standards. The current standard is “AC” and an “AC” router will support all three standards. And there are speed ranges of “AC” Routers.
Your WIFI speed may be limited depending on the model of your router.
Also on some routers, WIFI will slow down to the slowest connected device so if you have an old “G” device, it may be slowing your WIFI channel down to “G” speeds. Power off all of your WIFI devices and connect the only the test device.
Then of course the device you are testing the WIFI speed may be an issue as the WIFI driver in the device may be the limiting factor.

go to https://mydeviceinfo.xfinity.com to see supported devices. I recommend that you get one of the upper tier models to allow for future as at some point the modem will no longer be supported. I also like separate modem and routers.

I also live in Debary also and get slowdown at times but not anywhere as bad as that. I have Comcast Blast that they just upgraded to 100 Mbps. I tried both of those test sites and got 115 Mbps on Comcast and 119 Mbps on the Speedtest.net.
I would suggest you connect your computer directly to the Modem bypassing the router via cable and run the tests. It will help to determine if it is a router or a modem issue. If the speeds are still slow, first check to see if your modem is on the supported list (http://mydeviceinfo.comcast.net/). I replaced mine last year as it was on the “end of life” list and then went unsupported. Next I would try to reset the modem to factory settings if you can and retest. Then the next step would be to contact Comcast. If you need to replace the Modem, I suggest that you get one of the higher performing ones.
I also like separate modems and routers.
If the speeds are fine than you need to trouble shoot the Router.
