Also, is below true about 'switching' a day BEFORE "cycle-date" to avoid the $120 for 10gb (assuming that amount of Data is used) ... ? P.S. - I've found the "TV GO" channels starting at Ch. 1402 since discussing "out of home" vs. "in-home" on Forum... Since the purpose of upgrading to UNLIMITED (more of a temp. 'switch-to') is to TEST the Steaming App. in Florida to see how many of MY CHANNELS (my normally viewed) are allowed "OUT OF HOUSE" (via strong Cellular connection ONLY) for a 'short-stay'. My thought was... make the switch in the current CYCLE 'so-as-to' be able to switch back in the next CYCLE. There are mamy posts about this and not one is clear (for me)... the general 'take' is -- "one switch per CYCLE"... while the post about using 10gb ($120 worth) AND then switching right before the next CYCLE, 'there-by' oweing only $45 'vis-a-vie' UNLIMITED for those 10gb sounds GREAT, except for it doesn't sound like the comcast I know... a cold day in ... Have a feeling I will hear the following -- I can't 'switch back' until Jan. 7 or later if my 1st 'switch' is before Dec. 6... NOT A MATTER OF 'LIFE & DEATH', just would like to know if my TEST will cost $45 or $90 or MORE ? After all I did ask for a LIST OF "OUT OF HOUSE" CHANNELS & TIER 2 DID NOT PROVIDE... COMCAST DOESN'T HAVE OR DOESN'T KNOW... HOW LAME...

Boy, the overwhelming lack of input from Offical Comcast Employees when a Customer seeks to spend almost 4 times more for service, IS ODD INDEED... One has to wonder why a Customer's offer and/or request concerning EXTRA INCOME for their company would 'fall-on' deaf eyes. Then where's the PR aspect of "NON-SUPPORT", not only towards the Customer but to the detriment of the Company ! What would the executives or stockholders say, if they ever 'found-out' ? Give reps a raise or fire them 'on-the-spot' ???

"charges to connect to the towers" is based on phone being an active line and not dependent on whether phone is on or off---REALLY ??? TOWER TAX WHEN PHONE IS OFF ??? WELL, GUESS WHAT, THAT MAKES US BOTH WRONG & TIER 2 CORRECT ABOUT "LINE FEE"... OUR PHONE NUMBER SITTING IN EVERY TOWERS "SWITCH"/"RELAY" ALL OVER THE GLOBE MUST BE EXPENSIVE .... "in home" flag is not present on stb, you'll see "in home" flag when on the web site. Its the same as the app, website copies app functionallity. STB ??? THINKING YOU'RE BRAND OF X1 BOX... MINE JUST HAS XFINITY LEFT OF CLOCK. THINK I MENTIONED GUIDE ON X1 ON PC... THAT MEANT APP...

This is not a limitation set by the phone or manufacturerÂ but by our Xfinity Stream app, you can use a Roku device or laptop to stream content to your TV. WITH RESPECT, THIS IS THE 2nd TIME YOU 'CHIMED-IN' USING THOSE EXACT SAME WORDS... NOT HELPFUL, IN MY OPINION ! IF YOU WISH TO EXCEPT A PROBLEM, THAT IS FINE... BUT I AM NOT AS WILLING... From xf's point of view, screen sharing is identical to casting/mirroring. They claim that aggreements between them and content providers don't allow displaying streaming content from mobile devices to a tv. WHAT DO THE "PROVIDERS" COMCAST RECEIVES PROGRAMMING FROM "CLAIM" ? I'M FAIRLY SURE COMCAST DOESN'T HAVE "AGREEMENTS" WITH EVERY PRODUCTION COMPANY IN HOLLYWOOD AND BEYOND... THINK THEY ARE 3 0R 4 TIMES "REMOVED", THEY ARE NOT THE "CONTENT PROVIDERS" IN ALMOST ALL CASES, UNLESS AN ACTUAL BROADCASTER LIKE PBS OR THE LIKE PRODUCES SHOWS. NOT TALKING ABOUT HBO & THOSE, JUST PRIMARY "PROVIDERS" FOUND ON BASIC CABLE... To get xf stream to a tv, you can use an hdmi cable to directly connect a laptop to the tv, or you can use some casting hardware like chromecast. If on your home network, you can watch anything. If not on your home network, you can watch anything not marked as "In Home", as well as your recordings and tv go channels. The xf stream web site is https://tv.xfinity.com. Just had XM charge Credit Card on 11-26-17. Told my "billing cycle" is near the 7th of the month to the 6th of the next month... makes sense because phone was delivered and activated around the 7th & cycle runs for 30 days, so the 6th the following month sounds correct as well . Read that we could be on 'by-the-gig' ($12) plan AND use 10gb in a given cycle, then before cycle ends UPGRADE to 'unlimited' there-by REDUCING the $120 bill to only $45... I know comcast all-to-well & just can't see them doing this, the opposite maybe. Does anyone know this 'reduction' in the "11th hour" to be true ? Think XM 'gets-you' by forcing you to keep $45 plan an extra month or even two... so $90 - $135 to 'make-up-for' the $108 you 'got-away-with' when you used 10gb... $ amounts not perfect, I know (2nd $45-$12=$33 so $90-$12=$78 & $135-$24=$111) ... What I'm 'afraid-of' happening is upgrading 3 days before the 7th and paying $45 for 3 days of unlimited !!!

HERE WE GO... If you're talking about casting/mirroring your mobile screen while using the xf tream app, the app blocks streaming if it detects casting/mirroring of any kind. Xfm didn't remove sreen sharing, just don't allow it while using their app. CHANGING THE "SUBJECT LINE" TOPIC TO MAKE AN OPPOSING 'POINT-OF-VIEW'... SOME BEIEVE "SCREEN SHARING" IS 1,000% IDENTICAL TO "CASTING" & "MIRRORING". ACTUALLY, THEY ARE SIMILAR WITH ACTUAL DIFFERENCES, 'THERE-IN' IS THE REASON FOR MY POST, AT LEAST... FUNCTIONALITY SEEMS BE DETERMINED BT MODEL & CARRIER & CARRIER'S SW... WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT THIS IS ALL ABOUT !!! ANY DISAGREEMENTS SO FAR ? REMOVING & DISABLING ARE ALSO DIFFERENT... WHEN AN APP "BLOCKS" NORMAL FUNCTIONALITY, IT CAN BE SEEN AS REMOVING OTHERWISE NORMAL BEHAVIOR OR ACTIONS... AS-FAR-AS... You can use a pc and the streaming web site to cat/mirror to a tv. XM bought phones from LG... fine. Then sold those phones to Xfinity Customers, that already pay Comcast at least $150/month, for PENNIES... ok . We have already PAID for TV Services once, I'm sure the TV Networks got their share... why would they object to my watching them on the 1.75 inch window -OR- 5.5 inch screen when I'm NOT AT HOME ??? I cannot be in two places 'at-once'... CAN I ??? So 'what's' THE PROBLEM ??? I'm not at home... phone as TV... I want to VIEW (not OWN) a few TV channels on friends BIG SCREEN for a couple of hours... he's NOT STEALING anything & I 'sure-as-heck' AM NOT, remember, I've ALREADY PAID !!! In my case $190 + $45 = $235/month for a couple of hours of TV once or twice a year while NOT AT HOME !!! YES, I know about DRM & all that... WHY ELSE WOULD I PAY $235/month ? I've BOUGHT the {"rights"} AND THEN SOME ! What do you guys think ?

Ken, dan_ink is 100% correct ! Comcast ALWAYS (99.99% of the time) makes MISTAKES and excepts the Customer to 'put-up-with-it' AND pay anyway... as though Comcast is 1,000% PERFECT, which we all know IT IS NOT... never has been, never will be, CAN NOT BE and will fight 'tooth-n-nail' as if it is... 20+ years with them allows me to say that !!! All this because Comcast 'twisted-arms' and got itself classified a "utility" w/o the possibility of any competition... it's them or satellite or antenna or radio or nothing . Customers 'don't-stand-a-chance' against Comcast ... countless complaints 'bare-this-out', dan_ink is just one more victim of Comcast's current MONOPOLY !

Does WiFi Direct on the XM LG-X-Charge (M322) phone need the SSID and Password of the device (Smart-TV) that I'm trying to 'connect' with AFTER the 'initiation' step has been accepted by both TV & Phone in order for the TV to "PLAY" video & audio ? If you see wifi direct option in your phone, then I would say comcast did not remove it. If its not working with your tv, thats a different problem and would need lg's support help. Heard, on this Forum, that the Xfinity Streaming App detected & blocked the option, TRUE or NOT ? I know, that's a different question, but it has the same effect 'as-if' WiFi Direct were defeated, EVEN if it "shows" on phone because WiFi Direct is phone related NOT carrier related, I believe... Apps don't ALWAYS change CORE features or provide warnings to ever conceivable manner of use, as-far-as I know. You might know a lot more about FW; HW; SW than I do... most anyone would . I'm just using 'common sense' as my guide...

This seems to be your tv, it too says use wifi direct to share your screen. You're all set both your phone and tv support wifi direct, turn it on in both and try it. REALY ??? Do you think I haven't "turn-on WiFi Direct" on phone and TV ? Remember my actual QUESTION when I first contacted you ? And thank you for repling by the way. It mentioned & asked about WiFI Direct... it didn't ask "what is WiFi Direct" or "how to use it"... Me question was... No problem, my CABLE (Comcast) went-out a few nights ago... You DID get the email... wonder how I got it to go ? The board & PM wasn't allowing me to attach or paste anything for the longest time... Finally saw where it allowed JPEG and figured-out Win 10's Paint had that, never used Paint, only WordPad since XP... Oh, you're talking about 'print-screen' JPEG of email, not the email itself, got you (understand you). Yes they state what we all have known because we can see WiFi Direct on our phones, that working is why I contacted them & you IN THE FIRST PLACE... it doesn't ! MHL (by wire) sharing was everyone's first 'go-to', Xfinity reps. advised it before I ordered and knowing first-hand my 5 yr. old Moto DID 'share-by-wire', I was 'all-in' and ordered. This entire SHARING issue is nonsense in that it shouldn't take days and weeks; many contacts with several parties; dozens of Chats & emails; countless requests just to use one feature of a smartphone.

Anyway, we've haven't got ONE thing working, just 'ironed-out' differing points of view... like which can first the chicken or the egg -OR- is it six or a half dozen... Unsure about "///C:/Users..." & ...wincommapp... SORRY Just got Win 10 ... MAYBE THE BACK HALF OF URL WILL DO SOMETHING

LG's email stating what I mentioned also included THEIR PDF as an attachment, they were correct in saying page 69 covering sharing screens & wifi direct . Not sure about what you see or don't see on yours, if LG sent it to you directly one would think they'd be the same, but I can't state that as fact. Wish their email allowed 'copy-n-paste' to prove what the said, a 'print-screen' in ODT via Win 10's WordPad is here, however posting that on this board has failed 3 times since started I replied to you, just tried an EML no go either. If PM allows any attachments I could try that, up to you.

see ODT file I've tried attaching the ODT file (doc) by-way-of the "browse..." button right below this box (body) ! The file shows in field next to button, but when I post nothing goes to the end of this thread. If I can be PM(ed) I will forward LG's email to you from my Hotmail

LG advises that the LG X Charge (M322) has "LG Screen Share" per their email. Has XM removed or disabled that feature ? Not talking about the use of Screen Share with any given App like XM Stream App ! Is "LG Screen Share" alive & well on this XM phone, Yes or No ? LG also states that "WiFi Direct" is available on the M322, has XM changed that ?

Yes there are many usb to hdmi converters out there, older phones didn't have ability to wirelessly display its screen to external displays. Google usb to hdmi and you will see videos of phone to tv from 10 or more years ago. MY 5YR. OLD MOTOROLA HAD MICRO HDMI BUT WAS 3G & BELOW. NOT SURE IF OLDER PHONES (2G & BELOW) COULD EVEN OUTPUT A/V. MY SEARCHES SHOW ME 2015/2016/2017 PHONES, NEVER SAW 2005 PHONES, MAYBE I USED BING

Hi again It is a given that not every smartphone is EXACTLY like everyother smartphones, there are differencies. That being said, the smartphones of today are 'hand & shoulder' advancement over the first cellphones, which were nothing more than walkie-talkies while smartphones are mobile computers. Advancements didn't usually remove major improvements like the A/V output on a 5yr. old phone that had HDMI out. Maybe current phones rarely use HDMI but now USB seems to do most anything you want via HW;FW; SW and with newer & newer OSs in phones it seems ill-logical (to me) to assume phones can't output any A/V. If Apps per channel don't cripple HW functionality why would a multi-channel App cripple the same HW, more backwards technology ? Additionally, manuals are often outdated before they are printed due to FW & SW updates and patches. Almost any "system" can be modified this way, most are designed for this. I remember the days when one HAD TO use 3 RCA cables to hear & see CABLE on TV, now we have HDMI & WiFi. We didn't HAVE TO go back to rabbit-ears with twin-lead ! Did you notice all the manufactures of Micro USB to HDMI cables ? Somebody must be buying and I can't believe only a small hand-full of phones use those cables, on the contrary, I think maybe only a few phones models CAN'T use them. With luck our phones will... do we have the same phone, you never mentioned yours, unless I missed that... no 'biggy' if you wish to keep that private, like to see yours work too.
