Regarding, "I agree that any fee should be for the service, not per device."
If I can get Xfinity TV on my phone, tablet or browser for free, why would I want to pay for this "service" on a Roku? Is there something added that comes with the fee? I had been using a Mac Mini for a while as my TV using the Xfinity TV website in Safari. It worked fairly well. There was no additional fee. In fact, I had to call Comcast support to find out how I could access the DVR (the one you get for free with the bundle). They added Cloud DVR to the account and I had that, too.
So, why any fee at all?
