I also have exactly the same problem. Has been happening for the last couple of months.
I agree that this feels like a software bug. Someone suggested that Comcast is making changes in preparation for migration to the cloud and that the changes are causing bugs.
We had a service call from Comcast about 10 months ago and the service guy said that the cloud migration would be done by summer 2016. I recall thinking at the time that they would not meet that deadline.
