Seriously, why would anyone want to stay with comcast? I thought i might stay once my contract is over only because of this app but than i learn there "might" be a fee, of course there will be a fee, we're talking about comcast here! Than they take away HD from the app. Even the SD is like a tiny small box on my screen. This app is a total let-down and useless as far as i'm concerned. there are much better and cheaper options out there, sling tv, playstation vue,direct tv now,youtube unplugged and hulu is coming out with live streaming also. They are cheaper and give access to multiple rooms without anymore fees.   You almost had me back with this app but through it you showed me that you still want to nickle and dime your customers, thank you for releaseing it to show me i'm making the right decision by dropping you. ... Where did my HD channels go? I do not have HD on my package but in the app I had HD since the beta was released but today they were gone. It's fine I don't plan on keeping the app if we have to pay a fee. There should be no fee for the app period.     #1 I am paying for the set top box already      #2 I paid for the Roku, I am not renting it from Comcast .It's my equipment Comcast not yours.       #3 If there is a fee it would only be for greed       If there is a fee just from reading the remarks on here so many people have said they will not opt in. I have the roku stick, the newest one and it had been working fine but as mentioned by the last two posters my audio kept going off today after about 15 minutes watching a show and than the screen would freeze. I would use the back button on the roku and restart it and it would work fine for another 15 -20 minutes and than repeat itself. It was working fine for the past week or so. Now that the Xfinity beta app for Roku has been released there has been talk of a fee.    Am I safe to assume if there's a fee for the use of a Roku app it will apply to the Samsung smart TV app as well?    Also will there be any difference between the two?    I am currently using the Xfinity beta app on my Roku but also have a 2016 Samsung smart TV and when the app is released on there I was wondering how that would work as far as cost? Thanks Comcast Dan   That explains the missing content, although there are still a few channels on the app that I am not subscribed to but they don't work.   Also I was wondering if any work has been done to the app since it came out?  Mine seems to be working better. I have not had anymore loss of audio and it seems to load up faster. Only problem I am having now is when I choose an on demand movie it won't let me back out to the list. I have to press the home button on the Roku to stop the movie. While watching a TV channel I do not have that problem. ... View more

Missing content? I am assuming because this is just a beta is the reason for some of the missing content. I went to my living room and checked and noticed there are more channels there than the beta.Is it safe to assume they will be added when the app is officially released?  ... View more

After a day with the app I have come to a conclusion. If there is a fee of any kind for this app I will NOT opt in. My reason being I would only pick up a few stations.   I have an antenna that picks up my local stations and the rest except for a few I can get through their apps. The quality of the apps is a much better picture than I can get through the xfinity app. So why would I pay for the use of this app when the others are free and much better. ... View more

Anyone else have any audio issues? I was watching the Knicks and wizards game last evening and it buffered a lot and than it stopped. When it did this I would back out and start over seemed to fix it but than I kept losing audio and would have to back out and do it again. I checked some of the other channels and had no issues. ... Two things, first what fee are they they talking about? If there's still a fee after the beta you might as well have the box. Kinda defeats the purpose.   Second, is screen size, I can only use standard screen with the app. I tried to change it on my tv but it won't me, will it always be this size?   Still I like it..Thanks at last!  ... Thanks comcast Dan for your post. I think we all understand why no date can be given because if it gets delayed again than it leads to everyone being upset and a backlash against comcast, I am guilty of that myself. I think everyone wants an app that will work so it's ok if it takes longer than expected. so I understand why comcast won't give a date and perhaps you were told not to tell the public. Would love to know Comcast definition of "very soon" . They said in their press release in April of 2016 it would be released in the fall, than there were numerous dates given by the Comcast employee's that never happened. Than I was told three times that it would be released in 2016 for sure, well it's now 2017. I was reading about Comcast introduceing a "Digital Home" service at this year's CES and they said it would release in Q1 of this year. Is this anyway connected to the Roku app or two separate things? Sorry i am not a tech expert but from what I understand the new gateway will expand wifi but unsure if it has anything to do with the Roku app but the release dates are about the same causing me to wonder. ... Without giving my life story but the fact is I was in an accident a few years back that was no fault of my own. Now I am for the most part bedfast. I have the Comcast box only in my living room and have no hookup in my bedroom. Also the kids watch the TV in the living room. Being on a fixed income I need to watch my budget and can't afford certain things like new wiring and the extra 10 a month for another box. I only have a few fuzzy stations from my antenna and Netflix. I was so excited back in April when I heard about the app. I was given a Roku for my birthday but am still waiting. Like the rest of you I have been trying to be patient since April. Why tell people it will come out in the fall? I guess they can still meet that but the clock is ticking. Will still have to pay for HD through the Roku if it ever even gets here? I have to ask myself why i am paying for an extra set top box just to watch cable in my bedroom when direct TV or dish network will let me watch in 4 rooms at no extra charge and free installation. Another squeaky wheel. I thought about getting dish or direct TV so I could watch in different rooms without paying for the Xfinity box but was happy to hear that there would be an Roku app but I am tired of waiting.
