I have the same issue as everyone else. I have a fairly recent model of a Samsung TV with no external audio equipment. The audio diagnostics on the TV have a volume level which is good. It seems like something changed at Comcast which is now requiring me to turn the volume up by roughtly factor 5 in order to hear the audio.
I did PM one of the Comcast guys in this forum thread for possible solutions/workarounds last night.
