I'd much rather use my TiVo (for everything), but I've can use my Smart TV or a Roku box that I have to do get my HBOGo fix when I have the need.
Does the Xfinity on-demand not work for HBO on the TIVO? Doe Xfinity on-demand work for any channels on the TIVO?
I'm considering repacing the Xfinity equipent with TIVO, and I was under the impression that on-demand did work with TIVO.

Even though there may be an Ethernet connection on the back of the box, it doesn't work. The box gets all of it's signal over the coaxial connection.

Leave the phone connected to the AT&T phone line.
Connect a different phone to the modem.
That way you can still receive and make calls until the porting has completed, since you don't know exactly when the change over will occur.
My experience is that once the Comcast service can call out, there will still be a period of time where both lines call out using the same number, but only one can receive calls at the number.
Once both incoming and outgoing calls are working on the Comcast service, then call AT&T to terminate service.

The remote still has to be pointed at the TV to operate the power and volume. The pairing only allows the Set Top Box to be controlled without the need to point it at the box. There are 2 phone line connections on the back of the modem. Be sure to try both of them to determine which one is active. Is the Tel1 light on the front of the modem lit up?

Start simple. Set bridge mode in modem. Connect your computer to the modem with an Ethernet cable and see if you can access the Internet. Once you get that working, then connect the router to the modem and connect your computer to the router with an Ethernet cable. Check for Internet access. Once you get that working then you can use wireless. At each step you may need to reset the modem.

Make sure the power line is fully inserted into the modem. If your modem uses a separate power adapter, it may be bad.
