Thanks for this post. I have been on the phone with Comcast for the past two days with your described HDMI audio dropping, and no one seems to be acknowledging this as a real/known issue, even though there are plenty of folks on forums talking about losing audio using HDMI with an AVR. I'm just not sure I personally feel like spending another $85 for a workaround when this seems like it should have been caught before they released the X1 boxes. Sheesh.
