I was having trouble with my DVR not recording shows on occasion (seemed to happen most often between 7pm & 10pm, which is when most of my favorite shows come on TV).  I hated not knowing if a show would record or not.  I would check the Scheduled Recordings list all the time to ensure that my shows were on there, but even if they were, there was no guarantee that they would record.   I scheduled an in-home visit, and a tech came out and checked my signals.  He said they were way too high.  He made some adjustments and brought the signals within specs and the Non DVR box is definitely working a lot better.  Just for good measure, he swapped out my DVR for a new one.  Everything was working pretty well at first on Saturday, but beginning Saturday night, I noticed that my recorded shows don't show up in the Recorded list on the DVR for a while.  Sometimes I can begin watching them by going to the scheduled recordings list and selecting them from there (other times, the only option is to modify the recording, even if it's already started).  The recordings show up on my satellite box fine though, so it's only an issue with the DVR.  I'm assuming this is software related since the shows are actually recording, just not showing on my recorded list.  Has anyone else experienced this issue?  Also, I noticed the recording light does not light up most of the time when the DVR is actually recording.   There are still a lot of bugs with this system to be charging customers a premium price for it, and it seems with every update that fixes one problem, a new problem emerges.  The most frustrating part for me is that the DVR is not reliable.  That should be number one on the priority list of bug fixes - record the shows that are supposed to record.  Put the apps and other enhancements on the back burner for now please.  I want to be able to know that when I get home from work today, my shows will be available for me to watch.  That's all I really ask. ... Some odd behavior I noticed yesterday:  While going through the guide, I noticed there were a few shows that had the episode not recording icon (three circles with a line through the first).  The funny thing about this is that none of those shows were series recordings that I set up in the first place.  Obviously, it didn't really bother me that the shows I never set up to record weren't going to record, but I did think it was odd that my DVR behaved this way.  Has anybody else noticed this?   I will say that most of my DVR issues have resolved themselves over the past couple of months, and I never replaced my DVR, so my experience is improving.  I haven't lost any shows and I have not noticed any shows not recording over the past couple of weeks.   Also, for those who experience issues with the brightness of the lights and resolution issues:  My experience has been, while the menu does show full brightness of the power light and clock, the actual brightness has not been resetting daily.  Also, while the resolution in the menu shows 480i, the signal that my Yamaha AVR is showing is 1080p, so it appears the settings are, in fact, keeping, but the menu does not show that.  I can live with this little bug.   I have some requests for future enhancement, but I will keep silent on these for now since there is much work that needs to be done to iron out the existing features. ... Last night I powered on my non-DVR box, and I got an error code that said "There is a problem. Please call 1-800-XFINITY or go to comcast.net and reference code #13."   I did neither of those things because, frankly, I didn't want to be on the phone for an hour with someone who didn't know what code #13 meant, and I know that the answer wouldn't be on the website.  Anyway, I didn't notice any problems.  I dismissed the message and everything was working fine (TV, On Demand, etc.).  This morning I went to watch TV and I had the same error code, but this time nothing was working.   Has anyone seen this before?  I'm assuming a reboot is probably in order, since I haven't done that in 2 days.  I'm just curious if there is a larger issue with the STB which requires a replacement. ...
